And to my sister, and my right-hand men, Hosea and Lameek, I want my sister to stand on the throne next to Lameek. Hosea, I want you to stand next to Lameek. That’s the only way the company will continue to work.

I paused the video and shook my head. That was when Yummi walked in.

“I knew I heard my brother. Why are you watching his video again?” She sat next to me.

I sighed and then handed her the letter. I could hardly speak on the shit that was taking place. When I looked at her, tears streamed down her face and onto the paper, smearing the words.

“I can’t believe I was in a relationship with my brother’s killer! I feel so stupid. How did I not sense it!” she cried out.

“Nah, don’t feel stupid. The nigga had all of us fooled.”

“He would talk to Coast and see him when he had hallucinations. I wondered what he was saying to him. He would mumble things that I couldn’t understand. He probably was telling him a bunch of shit about being disloyal. He was never happy when he showed up either. He was always angry and crying when he talked to him.”

“I’ve heard him talk to Coast, too. But look, I’m going to go have to find this nigga and do what I gotta do. I need you to do everything I say, okay?”

“Okay, what is it?”

“First off, I gotta leave now. Once I handle him, I’ma have to lay low for a while, and you can’t go with me.”

Yummi stood up, irate. “What do you mean I can’t go with you? You just proposed to me last night; now we ain’t gon’ be together?”

“Calm down. The last thing I need you to be doing is being mad at me. You know how this shit goes. Once word gets out that he’s gone, all eyes gon’ be on me. Let shit die down, and I’ll be back. I want you to take everything I own… It’s yours ‘til I get back. I know that all Hurricane’s shit is in yo’ name. Cash out on that nigga shit and go dig up that fuckin’ money at yo’ mama house so you can be straight.

Go back to Prince Valley and stay there. The only people you need to communicate with are yo’ mama and Solace, and you already know, don’t talk to the police. You don’t need to be in thecity. Niggas still look up to Hurricane, and I don’t want nobody fucking with you.”

“I’ma keep my security around you, too. I promise when I come back, I’m not leaving you, and I’ma marry you. Can you hold me down, please? This when this love shit matters.” I stared at her so hard she probably could’ve felt the fire in my eyes.

“I can’t believe this is happening. Please go get that nigga. He ruined my life over greed. He deserves to be tortured. Make him feel my wrath.” She continued to cry. I felt bad for my lady, so I took her into my arms.

“I’ma make sure that nigga suffer for all of us. But listen to Coast’s real will. He wanted you to be the boss, and you still can be—this yo’ time to hold on to some power. I’ma help you keep it going, even while I’m away, but you know how to run the empire. Coast taught you everything. You’re not going to be close to the plug, but I got that worked out. I’ma have Tory link with you, so money can keep flowing. Can you be strong for me?”

Yummi broke away from me and looked up. “Yes, I can.”

I stood up and made her do the same.

“I’m about to get out of here and link with the squad. Don’t say nothing, okay?”

“You know I’m not gon say nothing.”

I grabbed what I needed and then left the house with Yummi standing at the door with a bitter expression on her face. When I hit the streets with Jayson, I was on the hunt for Hurricane, and he wasn’t hard to find.

MY HEART

I was devastatedwhen I watched Lameek walk out on me. I stood gazing at the driveway with tears streaming down my face while I fondled my engagement ring. Hurricane had caused so much damage. I didn’t know when my fiancé was comingback. I felt alone, and now that I had to disconnect from the world, I felt empty.

I watched Solace pull in the driveway, assuming Mula told her to come over. When she got out of the car, she had a bitter look on her face, like she already knew what had happened.

“Girl, you know I was eavesdropping on Jayson's conversation on the phone before Mula told me to come over here. I’m so sorry this happened to you.”

I broke down in tears, and she took me into her arms. “I don’t want him to leave me. This is so unfair!”

“He’ll be back, friend, and y'all can pick things back up when he does. You know with the caliber of men we like, this type of shit happens. Just focus on doing what you gotta do to stay safe. You know I got your back and won’t leave your side until he comes back.” She broke our hug and gazed at me.

“Thank you, friend. I need you to come with me to Prince Valley for a while. You can bring your baby. I need to talk to my momma first, though.”

“You know I’ll go with you wherever. I paid my momma to watch my daughter, but we can pick her up.”
