“What are you doing here?” Tariel demanded from behind Riann. He could sense her embarrassment through the bond. “Were you eavesdropping onus?”
Wellion smirked. “I’m reasonably certain everyone in camp heard you,” he said. He cocked his head as he studied her. “You’re looking remarkably perky,” he said. “There’s a magic glow to yourskin.”
“Sex rejuvenates my powers,” Tariel said coolly. She stepped past Riann and placed a hand on Wellion’s forehead. His eyes widened as a lavender glow encased her hand, and within seconds, all the tension bled out of him. “All better now?” sheasked.
“Much.” Wellion scrubbed a hand over his face, looking dazed. “Whatareyou?” he asked. “Even Sallara was never able to heal me thatquickly.”
“Thankfully, you were already mostly recovered, so it didn’t take much,” Tariel said. Her eyes glittered with suspicion as she studied Wellion. “Unlike your sister, I have fully unlocked my magic. Perhaps if your sister did the same, she might be just as powerful. From what I saw, she is quite formidable as itis.”
“Unlocked?” Wellion sounded intrigued. “How does one dothat?”
“In a ritual that involves sleeping with at least two men at once,” Tariel said sweetly. She pushed past Wellion, ignoring the stunned look on his face. “And speaking of sleep, I would desperately like to getsome.”
She continued to her tent, head held high, her hips swaying in that graceful, tantalizing way that captivated any man in her wake. Chuckling, Riann stepped around Wellion to followher.
“You asked for it, you know,” hesaid.
“I certainly did,” Wellion muttered. Shaking his head, he followed behind Riann. “Perhaps I will get some sleep after all, and wake up to find this has all been anightmare.”
“I wouldn’t count on it,” Riann said. Wellion might not be thrilled with the turn his life had taken, but he had no intention of waking up to find himself a captive in the bandit lairagain.
