When I fell forward on Mega’s chest, he pulled the covers up over my back. It was weird because most people got hot after sex. I was the opposite. After Mega and I had sex, I would be freezing. We could be under the hot water of the shower and I would still freeze.
His lips kissed my forehead. “I love you, baby. Merry Christmas. We don’t have long before the kids come in. Let’s get showered and ready.”
I kicked my legs the best that I could in the position that I was in. I was so comfortable. “I don’t want to move. Carry me,” I demanded.
He tittered quietly. “You are so damn spoiled. I have to call the people to change our sheets while we’re in the shower.”
I lifted my body up, then rolled over with the covers still wrapped around my body. “Okay, you can do that. I’ll stay here until you carry me into the shower.”
Mega climbed out of bed as he laughed. “I can’t even be mad because I’m the reason your beautiful ass is spoiled. Don’t fall asleep or I’m gonna smack your ass to wake you up.”
My head slowly turned to put eyes on him. He knew that I hated when he woke me that way. First, Mega had a heavy hand. Last, any abrupt noise or movement scared me if I suddenly woke up to it.
I willed myself to stay awake until he called our butler to change the sheets and set the water temperature. Soon after, my naked body was lifted into Mega’s arms and carried to the shower. Like I knew we would, we had another quickie session. Shower sex was the absolute best.
By the time we were done with the shower, the bed sheets had been changed. We had maybe an hour to get more sleep before we were ambushed by our babies. Although we knew it would happen every year, we still called it an ambush.
Every Christmas morning, our kids rushed in our room and jumped on us. After we settled down, Maggie and I made hot chocolate. After, we all climbed in bed and watchedThe Grinch. It was a tradition that started when Maggie was three years old and had continued.
As our baby girl got older, Mega was so scared that she wouldn’t want to do it anymore. I prepared him that a day like that might come. Maggie would always be a daddy’s girl, but the pull away was a natural thing that happened.
On top of my talk with my husband, I made sure that I had a little conversation with Maggie about this Christmas. I knew my man enough to know that he would be extra sensitive on this trip since Travis was here. Unfortunately, on this trip, Travis was the enemy. If for any reason Maggie decided she didn’t want to come in here for our family tradition, her father would take it as an affront to his fatherhood. Travis would take the blame for that. I made sure that she understood that.
Christmas morning was one of the days that reminded me of why I stuck it out in our marriage. Our little family wasn’t perfect, but it was ours. Trials and tribulations tried to break us apart at different points, but we fought for us. It took a lot of God, sessions with Draco, and being intentional for us to be happy.
Mega wrapped his warm body around mine before he nuzzled his face into my neck. His hands found their home on my breasts. It wasn’t even a minute later that I heard light snores.Let me get some sleep, too, before the weight of three children are on me.
The Grand Room Cheer . . .
The time with our kids this morning was so special. The kids normally lay at the bottom of the bed, while Mega and I were hugged up at the top of the bed. This morning, the boys lay at the bottom, and Maggie lay between me and Mega. I saw him melt when she folded into his arms. When she fell asleep, he looked at her for almost five minutes straight. That little girl could do no wrong in his eyes.
After we finished the movie, we all got up to get ready for breakfast and gifts in the grand room of the resort with the rest of the families. Mega and I usually had to fight with the boys to get ready, but not on Christmas morning. Matthew and Joseph were the first to be ready.
The staff of the resort outdid themselves with the decor of the grand room that we used for our festivities this morning. The breakfast buffet was laid out. There was a little bit of everything on the bar. The amount of food on the bar was the amount of food onGlory Soul Foodbuffet bar on a busy Sunday.
“This is so beautiful,” Shan said from her seat at our table. “I can’t believe they put up all these trees. Last night, when we were here for dinner, there were only two trees. Now there are eight trees in here. Well, I would say nine, but yeah.”
Fiona helped Gracie with a spoonful of oatmeal. “Shit, all these damn gifts. We needed all of these trees.”
There were gifts under each tree, and they were assigned by families. All of the daughters had a special gift for their fathers. Those were not under the tree because we wanted todo a special presentation for it. The kids were running around the room with some of the gifts that had been opened. Gracie and Blossom found their entertainment in a box, which didn’t surprise anyone.
“Mekole! Come get your damn son before I punt his lil ass across the room!” Mega yelled. His face was tight, eyes were squinted, and brows were knitted. He really might punt him.
I wasn’t sure what little TJ had done now, but big TJ was too consumed in his laughter to care. Mekole rolled her eyes. “Ruth, your husband is so bothersome. Let me get my baby.”
“You would think after that lil nigga thought he was Tarzan and climbed up that tree talkin’ about he wants the bird at the top that y’all would keep his ass contained. No, he’s running around here with bacon and a damn unhinged agenda,” Mega fussed. I wanted so badly to not want to laugh, but little TJ really had him in his feelings.
I walked over to Mega, then wrapped my arms around his waist. I kissed his cheek. “Baby, what did he do?”
Mega pointed at little TJ who was now in Mekole’s arm. “That’s my damn bacon his chomper ass is eating. Lil nigga walked up, gave me a hug, and in the midst snatched my bacon off my plate. He was smooth with that shit too. Here I go thinking he on some loving flow, and he was plotting to steal my bacon.”
TJ couldn’t stop his laughter at my man’s misfortune. “Bro, there is a whole pan of bacon over there. You can go get some more.”
Mega’s head bucked back. “I can go get some more? No, your son could have got him some more. Mekole, you and your demon spawn go get me some bacon. Teach your son to not touch people’s stuff.”
“Stop fussing, Mega. I’m sure you already ate your weight in bacon by now,” I told him. This man loved bacon inthe unhealthiest way. Bacon was the only pork that he ate consistently.
He wrapped his arms around me. I had to break eye contact for a second because if I didn’t, I would have been tempted to take him down right here. His eyes were the perfect shade of brown. They were simply mesmerizing. His lips went to my ear. “I eat my weight in you too. You don’t ever have a problem with that.”
