I lean forward, pinning her body against the wall. “You all right?” I ask, running my lips down the column of her neck.
“I’m better than all right,” she whispers, a smile stretched across her mouth. When she slowly opens her eyes, she asks, “When can we do that again?”
A bark of laughter erupts from my mouth, and I slide my lips across hers. “I’m gonna need a few minutes to recoup from that.”
She grins, kissing me back. “Maybe we should grab some food. You know, build our strength back up?”
I slowly start to lower her feet to the ground and pull myself out of her body. When she’s standing, I return to the kiss. It’s lazy, yet erotic, as we both come down from the high of release. The truth is, I could kiss this woman every minute of every day and still want more.
Finally, I pry my mouth from hers. “Food is definitely on the table.”
“What else is on the table?” she asks, her coy little smirk making my cock jump.
“Well, if I have my way, you will be…after I feed you.”
A blush spreads up her neck and stains her cheeks. “Hmm, I like the sound of that,” she states, grinning from ear to ear.
“Come on, beautiful. Let’s get cleaned up and figure out what’s for dinner,” I tell her, grabbing the pile of clothes on the floor and taking her hand, leading her to my bedroom. Pointing to the open door, I say, “Bathroom. Take all the time you need.”
She grabs her clothes from the pile and heads inside, closing the door behind her. I remove the condom and toss it in the trash can, grabbing my T-shirt to clean myself off. Then, I slip back on my athletic shorts and retrieve a fresh shirt from my closet.
Just as I’m pulling it over my head, the bathroom door opens and Oaklee emerges. “All yours.”
My feet carry me that way, but not to the bathroom. I stop in front of her and pull her into my arms once more and kiss her lips. “So, dinner first, and then I’ll eat you for dessert. Then what?”
She watches me for a moment before answering, “Then I think I’ll head home.” I open my mouth to comment, but she cuts me off. “I want to keep this what it is, okay? Fun. Two consenting adults enjoying each other’s company however they want, but at the end of the day, I go home or you go home.”
My throat is suddenly thick, because even though I was going to suggest bending her over the couch, to hear her say the words I’ve always said to women is a little unsettling. The image pops into my head of her in my bed, of her curled at my side as I drift off to sleep, and I’ll be damned if I don’t like it more than I should. I never let anyone spend the night here, nor do I stay at their place. We just…move on. That’s always the plan and I make it well known before we even move it toward physical.
This is exactly what she said.
Fun.
Two people enjoying each other’s time and company for a bit and then going their separate ways.
The only problem with that thought is I kinda like hanging out with her, more so than any other woman before her.
That fact alone seems to complicate things a little in my mind.
But I won’t get into that now.
Now, I need to focus on feeding her.
“Deal,” I tell her, taking her hand. “Come on, beautiful. Let’s eat.”
CHAPTER
TWENTY
Oaklee
I shove my feet into old slip-ons and check my appearance in the mirror. It’s a beautiful Sunday afternoon, but the weather is definitely starting to turn cooler since it’s now early October. I’m wearing a pair of old jeans, a T-shirt, and a crewneck sweatshirt, compliments of Cade. It’s the one I wore last weekend when we went camping and never returned. I like it too much, and possession is nine-tenths of the law, right?
It doesn’t smell like him, since I’ve washed it the two times I’ve worn it, but it feels like an extension of his warmth. Like a hug. He’s even seen me wear it earlier in the week when we were hanging out but didn’t ask for it back or comment about me stealing it. He just smiled and moved on. I can’t help but wonder if maybe he likes seeing me in it.
Warmth spreads through my chest at the thought.
I ignore it.
