“Dinnae be nervous, lass,” Malcolm said, sliding his hands down her arms. “I’m not going tae hurt ye.”

“I know,” she answered, tilting up her chin to look him in the eye. “I love ye, Malcolm Lennox.”

His eyes widened. “Wot?”

“Ye heard me,” she answered. “I love ye.”

His mouth worked. “Och, Edna, ye dinnae know wot those words mean tae me. I love ye more than life itself.”

Her heart turned over in her chest, but Malcolm was already sliding his hand behind her neck and bringing her lips to his. Edna was lost in his kiss immediately, feeling the warmth come from her toes all the way up to her lips. That was what Malcolm did to her.

When he broke the kiss, his breathing was harsh. “I could do that for a lifetime.”

Edna reached for his shirt, anxious to feel his skin next to hers. “Well, I hope ye arenae planning on kissing any other lasses.”

Malcolm chuckled as he yanked off his shirt. “Nay, lass, only ye.”

Together, they worked on removing her dress and shift, Edna flushing as she stood naked before her husband.

“Edna,” he rasped, his eyes drinking in the sight of her, “ye are lovely.”

“Touch me, Malcolm,” she begged.

“With pleasure.”

Edna felt his hands all over her body then, starting with her bare shoulders down to her suddenly heavy breasts, and when he touched the sensitive peaks, she gasped in pleasure.

“Och, if ye like that,” he said in a heavy voice, “ye are going tae like this as well.”

She nearly jumped out of her own skin when his mouth clasped on one, her hands going into his hair and holding him there. There was a sudden heaviness about her, her body wanting more from him than she could ever imagine.

He moved her over to the bed, and Edna lay on top of the covers, Malcolm laying beside her, propped up on one side. She didn’t break their eye contact as his hand touched the very center of her, gasping as he found the aching part that had been begging for his touch.

“Ye’re ready for me,” he growled, nipping at her chin. “But I want tae hear ye cry out mah name first, Wife.”

Edna closed her eyes and let herself enjoy the pleasure he was bringing to her body, the way his fingers roamed over her mound and his lips over hers, feeling that heaviness start to coil low in her belly. When it grew as tight as a bowstring, she gasped in his mouth.

“That’s it,” he murmured against her lips, moving his own down to her jawline. “Let go for me, Edna.”

So she did, crying out his name as a wave of pleasure soared throughout her body. It was unlike anything she had felt before, leaving her feeling boneless and in awe of what pleasure he had brought her.

She felt Malcolm shift and felt his bare body covering hers, his hardness pressing into the soft planes. “This will hurt, love,” he told her. “But only for a moment.”

Edna opened her eyes to find the concern in his, and she brought her hands to his face, stroking his skin tenderly. “I trust ye.”

He hung his head and pushed into her, breaching her maidenhead with only a sharp pain that Edna barely felt. “Are ye alright, lass?” Malcolm asked, his voice strained.

“I’m fine,” she gasped, angling her hips to take him in deeper. When he obliged, she shattered again, her body trembling under his. Malcolm began to move, and Edna clung to him, learning how to match his pace with hers so that they could move in unison with one another. His movements grew frantic, and he brought her to another pleasure peak before she heard his own groan, his body shuddering before collapsing on top of her.

Unable to think about what they had just done, she ran her fingers down the length of his back, listening to his harsh breaths in her ear. She was now truly a married woman, and it had been wonderful.

After a few moments, Malcolm rolled off to her side, slinging his arm around her waist. “I cannae move.”

Edna giggled, rolling on her own side to face him, her body sated. “Ye just did.”

He cracked open an eye. “Minx.”

She smiled, and his expression grew somber. “Are ye alright, love?”
