Her husband chuckled. “It’s all inside. I assure ye, lass.”

She tipped her face up for his kiss, and he obliged her, groaning as he wrapped his arms around her. “Och, lass,” he whispered against her lips. “Do we have time for a quick tup?”

She laughed and pushed at his chest until he released her, the sound of wagons approaching catching her attention. “They’re here!”

“Great,” Kaiden groaned, following her outside. Sure enough, Ferra could see the wagons coming through the village, waving at the occupants wildly. Her sisters were here, to see her home and meet her husband.

Garia was the first to arrive, squealing as she hurried off the horse she had been riding, and throwing her arms around her sister. “Look at ye!” she laughed, hugging her. “Ye are positively glowing, Ferra!”

“As are ye,” Ferra replied, tears pricking her eyes as she pulled back. Garia gave her a watery smile before looking up at the Scot behind her. “Is this him?”

Ferra smiled and tucked her arm in her sister’s as they faced her husband. “Aye, this is him.”

“By ‘him,’ she means Kaiden,” he stated, winking at her. “Welcome tae mah keep, lass.”

Before Garia could respond, there was another squeal, and both sisters turned to see Breta running toward them, throwing her arms around them both. “Ferra, lass, look at ye!” Breta announced, hugging her close. “I cannae believe that this is our sister!”

Ferra let the tears fall as she hugged them both tightly, still not believing they were on her lands. After everything they had gone through, every marriage she had watched happen, it was now her turn to show off her home and her husband.

“Och, ye are a looker,” Breta replied as they faced a laughing Kaiden. “I cannae believe that our Ferra is wed tae ye.”

“I cannae either,” Kaiden responded solemnly, a twinkle of laughter in his eyes. “But she has chosen me, and I wilnae give her back.”

Breta looked at her sister, a smile on her face. “And he knows exactly wot tae say. He will fit in nicely.”

Ferra grinned at her husband, and he winked at her, warming her body with the simple movement. She wouldn’t give him back even if the gods asked for him. He was her love, the man she wanted at her side for all of her days. He was going to be the father of their bairns, the man that held her hand during the difficult times and laughed with her during the good ones.

She wanted no other.

“I dinnae think I will give him back either.”

After introductions were had, the sisters took off alone, leaving the husbands to watch over the bairns while they caught up. “I cannae believe we are all wed,” Breta remarked as they walked through the pasture behind the keep.

“And some of us have bairns,” Garia added, squeezing Ferra’s arm lightly. “Though with a husband like that, I dinnae expect it will be long before our fair sister is a mam.”

Ferra blushed as she thought about their lovemaking and how it had not slowed since they were wed.

“See?” Breta stated, a knowing smile on her lips. “She’s blushing.”

“Go on with ye,” Ferra finally forced out, waving a hand at them both. She wasn’t about to have this sort of talk with her sisters.

Well, not without some ale, that is.

She had questions that they would now likely give her answers to since she had lain with a man.

“And he loves ye,” Garia sighed. “I’m glad that ye have found yer happiness like we have. I just wish ye could live on our land.”

“Nay,” Ferra said, shaking her head. She loved this land and this clan. She loved her keep and the life she was going to have with Kaiden here. “This is mah home.”

The three sisters sighed in happiness and watched as the sun started to dip low in the horizon, their arms linked with each other’s. Their lives might be different, but they were all content with the life that had been given to them and the husbands that loved them to distraction.

Shamus watched as the three families ate and drank around him, his heart warming from the sounds of laughter that once again echoed off the stone walls. It had been far too long since the keep was filled with laughter, but his daughter-in-law had brought the happiness back to their lives, and for that, he was forever grateful he had taken the chance in bringing her here.

Excusing himself from the table, Shamus walked outside, striking up his pipe as he did so. “Well, love, we did it,” he whispered to the dark sky, knowing somewhere his lady love was watching the happenings of her family. He missed her more each day, and as his days started to dwindle on his life, Shamus was looking forward to seeing her once more. All she had ever wanted was for him to be happy, but Shamus had told her as her life was fading away that she was the reason he had been happy.

“Da?”

Shamus looked up to find Kaiden standing beside him, a curious look on his face. “Wot are ye doing?”
