But this time—
We’re here to end the system completely.
The jet touches down smoothly.
Minutes later we step out into the warm California night.
A black SUV waits on the edge of the private terminal.
River leans against the hood.
Cyclone and Gage stand beside him.
Logan sits on the hood scrolling through his phone.
River looks up as we approach.
“Took you long enough.”
Boone grins.
“Miss us?”
Cyclone folds his arms.
“Not particularly.”
Gage shakes Boone’s hand.
“Good to see you again.”
Then he looks at Wren.
“Nice to see the person who saved the city.”
She smiles politely.
“Nice to see the people who helped stop it.”
Blade is leaning against the back door.
“So.”
“What’s the mission this time?”
Wren answers calmly.
“We dismantle Sentinel’s system.”
Cyclone raises an eyebrow.
“All of it?”
“Yes.”
River studies her carefully.
“That system runs a lot of infrastructure.”
