"He gave it to me after we had breakfast."

He looked at the two of them staring at him with their mouths open in shock. "Why the hell are you two looking at me like that?"

Gray cleared his throat and moved to stand next to Des. "When did you and Moor have breakfast?"

"I ended up spending the night with him..."

"You fucked him?" Gray said, aghast.

"When did I say that?" Des answered.

"You said you slept together," Bianca said.

"Yeah, we slept in the same bed."

"Fuck, I feel like we're missing something, Desi," Gray told him. "Start from the beginning."

Des sighed and shook his head but did as his friend asked, explaining what had happened when she left him alone at the bar after they had a few drinks and not remembering anything else until he woke up in Moor's bed. He expressed that they didn't sleep together—and finding out that he'd gotten into a fight with someone named The Beast.

"The Beast?" Gray said.

"Yeah, I don't even know what the guy looks like, but Moor said he took care of it," Des told him. “Anyway, he cooked breakfast. We talked about a few things, one of which was that I should quit my job. And when I was getting ready to leave, he gave me his number."

"So that's why you were angry with me." Bianca smiled. "Tell me you called him at least?"

"I texted him, thanked him for breakfast, and told him I would take him out one day, but that was two weeks ago," he said sheepishly.

"Holy hell, what the hell are you doing?" Bianca shouted. "Go call him right now and set up a date."

"What if he deleted my number or forgot about me?"

"What if he didn’t, and he's been waiting for you to call him?"

"He could call me too, you know? He has my number," Des said. They argued back and forth for a bit before Gray interjected.

"You two are driving me fucking crazy. Des, I don't think it's good for you to start dating or think about going out with anyone, especially Moor. I think you should take some time to focus on the things you've wanted to do now that you're free from your parents' stranglehold."

"You talk as if you know the Moor guy," Bianca said.

"I know of him, and he has a type that he goes for. And if Des goes out with him, I'm afraid Moor will devour him on the first night."

"Maybe I want to be eaten up," Des said.

"Yeah," Bianca agreed happily. “Let him get eaten.”

"Fuck it," Gray said, grabbing his paintbrush and going back to work. "I warned you."

Des sighed and walked over to Gray, hugging him from behind. "I don't want to sit on the sidelines anymore, Gray. I have done that for a long time, and now I want to experience the world as I should have. It's just one date. Who knows if he'll respond?”

"Trust me, he will," Gray said softly. "Who can say no to you?"

“That's debatable." He chuckled.

Gray turned and hugged him. "I want you to be happy, Des. You deserve it more than anyone."

"Thank you."

"Look at me," Gray said, leaning back. "Learn to have fun, okay? Experience meeting people and never hold back from taking what you want."
