Steam slowly rose from the tub, not blocking his view, as Anubis’s alluring scent surrounded him, adding to Star's arousal. It also made him realize that the man always had that sensual scent whenever he was in Anubis's presence. It must’ve been because he liked to soak in the tub with the essential oils. Star snuggled into Anubis's embrace, wiggling his ass on his hardened cock.
Anubis chuckled. “Are you having a hard time relaxing? Or did you just want me to fuck you the second you came through the door?” He tweaked one of Star's nipples as he spoke. “Don't worry, little one, I will have you begging for me to fuck you soon enough.”
“Is that so?” Star said.
“Yes.” Anubis smirked.
The truth was that Star was not used to any man being this sweet to him. Especially a dominant who only wanted his submission. He also thought Anubis wanted the same. He turned his head and looked at the other man.
“Honestly, I wasn't expecting all of the flowers and candles.”
“I could tell by the look on your face when you saw the candles.”
“So you were watching me.”
Anubis nodded.
“Do you always seduce your fuck buddies like this?” Star asked one of the questions that bothered him when he shouldn't care about who Anubis fucked before or after him.
“Fuck buddies?” Anubis quirked a brow.
“Isn't that what we are?” he responded.
“I'm not sure yet. But let's not use labels so flippantly.” He gripped Star by his chin and brought their faces together. “The only thing I'm certain about is that I want you, and I can't stop thinking about you. Yet, I know so little about you.”
“Do you always try to get to know your fuck buddies?”
“There's that label again,” Anubis huffed. “Use something else, little one. This isn't going to be a one-night thing.”
They stared at each other, as if searching for the right words to define what was happening between them, but neither came up with anything. He was also happy that Anubis wanted to be with him more and needed to lean into the thought that Anubis wasn't like Thornton and the other men he had dealt with before.
“Fine, I won't use that word anymore.” He sighed. “I hate to admit it, but I feel the same way. I was being truthful that night at the club; I was not looking for a relationship. I came to Valleywood with hope and a prayer that I would have a new beginning in my career and life. A love life was not my focus. In fact, I was running from one. But from the moment I saw you, it's like you've always been lurking in the back of my thoughts. I refuse to let my dreams and aspirations be pushed aside because of love. I can't do that again. Anubis, you make me desire things I shouldn't, and now I'm unsure what to do with myself. I want you so bad I think I've become obsessed with you. I envy you and admire everything you've accomplished.” Star surprised himself by admitting that much to Anubis, yet his world did not crumble instantly.
“Why?”Anubis asked. “Why are you jealous of me?”
“Are you kidding me?” Star snapped. “I've read your bio online. You’re a five-time nominated director, and a brilliant actor, producer...”
“Stop,” Anubis cut him off. His brows were creased tightly, and he seemed somewhat upset as Star listed some of his accomplishments. “I've been nominated, sure, but I've never won. Fuck, let's not get on that subject. I don't want our time together marred by my frustration with the academy.” He stared at Star
“How do you propose we fix that?”
“It's rather simple. You let me pamper you for as long as I want.”
“That's it?” Star asked in disbelief.
“Yeah, and we'll figure the rest out later.”
“Okay, but don't treat me like all your other bed partners.”
“My dear, little one, you sound jealous.” He smiled, seeming proud of Star's reaction.
Star's brows furrowed as he pondered the question. For some reason, he didn’t like thinking of Anubis being sweet and loving to another person. Star didn't understand his feelings but stood firm that Anubis shouldn't pamper anyone else but him. But he wasn't going to share his discontent with Anubis.
“Why would I be jealous?” He pouted, hiding his face from Anubis's view. “We mean nothing to each other.”
“You're a stubborn one, I see. I like that. I need someone who will call me out on my bullshit.” Anubis didn't seem upset by his words. Rather, he was smiling.
“I can't figure you out,” Star said truthfully. The man wasn't exactly what he expected.
