“Other than what do you want for lunch?”

“Don't worry about that. I'll take care of my own meal for today.”

“Okay.”

Anubis stood, grabbed his coffee cup, and exited the trailer. Just as he closed the door, he saw Star heading in his direction. He was about to pretend he didn't see him, but ignoring the man would be too childish.

“Director Anubis, can I speak to you for a minute?” Star asked, coming to stand next to him and Tyrek.

Anubis nodded, then looked at Tyrek. “Get those meetings set up for me. Also, go to my apartment and get me a change of clothes for tonight. I'm meeting Sobek for dinner.”

“Right away.”

Tyrek hurried away, and Anubis placed his focus on Star. “What's up?”

“Your friend Thor told me not to say anything, but I know you saw me drunk last night. I'm sorry, but I don't remember anything.” He moved closer to Anubis and whispered, “Did I do or say anything weird to you last night?”

Anubis stared at Star, who seemed worried. Other than saying that he had died before and that he had gotten his heart broken, Star hadn't said anything too earth-shattering. But it still left Anubis with questions.

“Not that I know of.”

Star sighed in relief. “Thank goodness.”

“Is that all you have to say to me?” Anubis quirked a brow. He was genuinely pissed that Star and Chase had drunk his Dragon Fire Whiskey. “That whiskey was a gift and was meant to be savored. I didn't even get a sip.”

“Are you angry I drank your whiskey?”

“Yes,” Anubis snapped.

“I'm sorry,” Star said. “When I called Chase last night, I simply needed a friend, and he took me to the room. I wasn't expecting us to get wasted,”

“When did you and Chase get so close?” Anubis drawled.

“Does it matter?” Star crossed his arms over his chest, as if challenging Anubis for whatever reason. It would have grated on him if someone else did it, but with Star, he was more enthralled than anything else.

I need to distance myself from this man until I know the truth. Right now, I can't decide whether to spank or kiss him. Fuck, maybe both.

“You're right. It doesn't matter. Let's get ready to shoot.” Not wanting to talk about it anymore, Anubis walked away from Star, feeling as if he was making a mistake by not pulling the man closer to him, yet he couldn't stop his feet from moving forward.

What the hellis his problem?Star huffed, watching Anubis walk away from him in a hurry. “He can't really be upset about the whiskey, right?”

“Who can't be upset?” Star smiled when he heard Vivienne's voice.

“It's nothing. I'm just thinking out loud,” he said, looking at her. “What are you doing here?”

“I came to check on you, of course. Plus, one of my other clients is on the lot filming a movie.”

“Oh, okay.”

Star knew how busy she was, and he still couldn't get over how different but similar this Vivinne was from the one he previously knew. Seeing Vivienne reminded him of something Chase had said. Although the people he knew looked the same as in his previous life, not all were similar. But sometimes, there were exceptions. It made him wonder if the Thornton of this world was the same as in his last life. In either case, Star didn’t want to find out. Thornton might’ve been the one oddity who would remain the same trifling man in every world.

“It's time for you to start filming. I'm going to check on my other client. Call me if you need me,” Vivienne instructed. “I'm working on a few more deals for you.”

“Thanks,” Star smiled.

Vivienne left, and Star started his day, which went smoothly. He shot all of his scenes, and to his surprise, the director didn't even yell when he messed up a few times. It also helped that Anubis had left early, leaving the rest of the work for the assistant director. That was how it went for the remainder of the weeks on set, and soon it was time for Star to end his time onThe Traveler. There was another shock when his character didn’t die, and there was room for him to return for later episodes if the writers wanted.
