“Yeah,” he sighed. “He's the one I told you about from the masquerade and the reason I let Azazel talk me into directing that Traveler episode.”

“He's already got you wrapped around his finger, and you haven't even claimed him yet.” Thor chuckled.

“Shut up,” Anubis muttered. He shook his head and looked at how close and comfortable Chase and Star were, and he couldn't help but wonder when the hell they had become so close.

The Chase he knew did not like being touched by others. Even though he'd known the man since birth, he had never gotten close enough to shake Chase's hand. Anubis would feel some kind of way if Chase was only that way with him, but he also kept his parents and siblings at arm's length. Yet, he let down his guard with Star. Anubis shouldn't let it bother him, but he couldn't help but ponder what it was about the redhead that made not only Chase like him, but Anubis as well.

“Did you know about their friendship?” Thor asked. It seemed he and his friend were thinking along the same lines.

“Nope. I still don't know much about Star.”I just know I want him constantly.Putting the whiskey bottle down, he moved closer to the two sleeping omegas. “You take care of Chase. I'll handle Star.”

“I take it you're sleeping here tonight?” Thor asked, picking up a sleeping Chase.

“Yeah, I'm too tired to teleport back home. Plus, I don't need to be at the studio until noon,” he explained.

“All right, I'll have someone send breakfast to your room in the morning.”

“Thanks, man. Hey, so you really called me because he kept saying my name?” Anubis said before Thor could leave.

“Yeah, plus he kept mumbling. Something about that sexy bastard Anubis, and how he can't fall for another good-looking guy.”

Anubis smiled upon hearing that. “He thinks I'm dashing. I just might forgive him for drinking my Dragon Fire Whiskey.”

“Don't get too full of yourself. It was all said in a drunken stupor, and he won't remember shit in the morning.”

“Ever heard of liquid courage?” Anubis waggled his brows teasingly.

“You're an idiot.” Thor chuckled as he walked out of the room.

Anubis kneeled beside the couch as he stared at Star, thinking over Thor's words. MaybeI am an idiot. He trailed a knuckle softly down the side of Star's cheek, stopping at his cute mouth. Thoughts of kissing them came back to him, and Anubis wanted to taste them again, but he held back. He liked his partners to be more alert and sober whenever they did anything intimate. Star moaned and slowly pried his eyes open. His gaze locked on Anubis, and he smiled drunkenly.

“You're here,” he slurred. “I was dreaming about you.”

Anubis raised a brow at his words. “Really? Tell me about it.”

“No.” Star pouted, shaking his head cutely.

Anubis smiled. “Why won't you tell me?”

“Cause you're mean to me.”

“If I promise not to be mean, will you tell me?”

Star's eyes opened wider, peering into Anubis's face. “I'm not dead, right?”

“No, you're very much alive,” Anubis said without thinking. “Why would you think you're dead?”

“Because it happened before,” he mumbled. “S...ki…me.”

Each word was said between hiccups, making it hard for Anubis to decipher what he said. “Really, how?” But it drew his attention nonetheless, wanting to hear the answer. However, Star remained quiet, so Anubis changed the subject. “Tell me, baby boy, what was your dream about?” Anubis was honestly curious about what he had dreamt.

“You promise to be nice?” Star whispered.

“I do,” Anubis said, hoping to sound reassuring.

“I don't believe you. Men like you lie,” Star said when Anubis thought he was about to hear what he'd been waiting for.

“What do you mean men like me? And what would I lie about?”
