“See something interesting?” Vivienne asked.
“The redhead on your left.”
Vivienne turned to where Anubis pointed. “I know him,” she said.
“You do?” Anubis said in surprise. “How?”
“Well, I don't really know him, but of him. The kid popped up on my VikVok feed several times over the past week. He did a bunch of shit, from singing and dancing. He even did some acting. Fuck, what was his name?” She tapped her temples in frustration. Seconds later, she snapped her fingers as a smile graced her lips. “Star Reborn.”
Anubis glanced over at the beauty, who was looking down at his phone. “How was his acting?”
“Not bad. It could use some improvement. With the right managing team, he could be something special.” Vivienne crossed her arms over her chest, tsking. “Whoever is his agent or manager, they need to be fired.”
“Then why don't you take him on? He could be your diamond.” Anubis didn't move his gaze from the beauty.
Star Reborn. I like it.
“Hire him for your new project, and I will.” Vivienne smirked.
Anubis chuckled and reluctantly pulled his eyes off the redhead. “Look at you already negotiating for him; he’s not even your client yet.”
“I have a feeling he will be by the end of the day. And by the way you keep staring at him, he'll be in your series whether he meets your acting standards or not.”
“Are those your witchy senses?”
“I'm not a seer, but I feel good about him.” She looked back at the redhead. “I don't know how to explain it, but even though I didn't know he would be here, he's the reason I came today.”
She walked away but not in the beauty's direction. Anubis didn't have time to think about what Vivienne would do, since Tyrek came over with the information he needed about Star Reborn.
“Tell the casting director to get started. I'll join them soon,” Anubis instructed.
“Yes, sir.”
“And Tyrek.” Anubis stopped him before he could leave.
“Yes, si...”
“I told you to call me Anubis. I only allow certain people to call me sir.”
Tyrek blushed, but Anubis ignored it and turned his gaze to the redhead, who was still looking down.
Why am I so fascinated by you when we've never met before? Hell, we've never even had a damn conversation.
Shaking off the thought, Anubis walked away. He had some research to do.
Chapter Eight
STAR
“Where's your agent?”
Star looked up from his phone when he heard the question coming from the recognizable voice and connected with brown eyes that he once knew like the back of his hand. He had been sitting and waiting for his time to shine since the audition started a little over four hours ago.
“Stop staring at me and answer my question,” she said.
“If you’re more polite, then maybe I will,” Star responded. He heard the gasps from others that were in listening distance but ignored them. They weren’t important to him.
“Listen up, kid, I—”
