“Really? What else did he tell you?”
“Only what pertains to me and him,” Donald answered. “But one day I’d like to hear everything that happened to you.”
Uriel nodded. “How far along are you?”
“Four months,” Donald answered.
“Are you getting enough sleep?”
“Sleep, yes, but I haven’t been able to keep anything but pie down.”
“Ah, so you were the pie baby.” Uriel smiled.
“What do you mean?”
“When I was pregnant with you and Kris, I had no clue I was having twins, but I had two cravings, pie and barbecue spare ribs.”
They both chuckled, and even though they were conversing, the tension still hadn’t faded away.
“I didn’t want to push you away. I was just confused,” Donald said.
Uriel moved closer to Donald, who was roughly his height. “I understand. It’s why I didn’t disturb your life when I came back. I just wanted to watch and protect you from afar. I just didn’t expect that your mating to Fenrir would have broken the lock that was placed on your powers. I doubt Dio thought that would have happened or he would have permanently taken your powers from you.”
Donald sighed. “He doesn't sound like a good grandfather."
"He's not," Uriel said.
"You know, since I found out about our world, I’ve been learning to accept things. I can’t change the past, but we can change the future. I want to be a part of your life. I want to get to know you and learn more about your world.”
“I want that too, son.” Uriel sniffled.
Tears streamed down both Uriel and Donald’s cheeks. And Uriel wasn’t afraid to let his son see him in a weakened state.
“Can…can I give you a hug?” Donald asked.
“That’s something you never have to ask for,” Uriel said and pulled Donald carefully into his arms.
He closed his eyes and smiled. He was finally holding his son after so many years. Joy bubbled inside of him that he was getting his family back, and this time he wasn’t going to let them go.

“You’ve been smilingan awful lot today,” Azazel said. They had gotten home and were getting ready for bed after spending an eventful day in Vale Valley with Rosemary and her daughter, along with Khray and Blue, who still had his cast on but was learning to navigate better with it . But what made Uriel happy was his son.
“Donald wants me in his life.” Uriel was so giddy he couldn’t stop smiling.
“I’m happy for you, baby.” Azazel chuckled.
“Fuck, we’re going to be grandparents again! And this time I get to take care of him.”
Azazel hummed and leaned closer to Uriel, burying his face in Uriel’s neck, kissing him lightly. “Yes, grandparents.” Azazel’s arms wrapped around his waist. “How about we make some more kids of our own?”
Uriel pulled out of Azazel’s arms. “Are you serious? We’re just getting to know the ones we have.”
Azazel looked a little upset. “So is that a yes or no to wanting more kids?”
“Az, I’m not saying no more kids, but let’s not rush into things. I thought we agreed on eternity.”
“We did,” Azazel answered.
