“What have you decided?” Uriel asked.
“I know we talked about moving in together, so I’m going to move in with you, Kristoph, and Orion. It’s better for Kristoph and for us.”
Uriel turned his head and looked at his lover. “Okay.”
Azazel kissed him. “I’ve also decided something else.”
“Really?”
“Yeah.” Azazel nodded. “I won’t interfere with your job. At first I was going to ask you to take less-dangerous cases, but I realized I can’t barge into your life and ask you to change what makes you who you are. Baby, you like helping people, and if this is your way of doing it, then I cannot stop you.”
“What are your requests?” Uriel said, knowing that his lover always had an exception.
“I have two,” Azazel said. “Don’t keep me in the dark. I want to know every detail about your cases. If I have to be a silent partner in your company for it to happen, I will, but for my peace of mind, I need to know you’re safe. Second, if you need help, baby, let me know. I get it, you’ve been handling things by yourself for the past few years without me, but I’m here now, so lean on me.”
Uriel turned around in Azazel’s embrace and straddled his legs. “You don’t have to be a partner to know the details. We said no secrets from each other and that means work.” Uriel paused for a few seconds. “I’ll try to lean on you more, but don’t feel offended if I don’t come to you right away. You’re right, I’ve been doing it on my own for a while, but I also had Synder, Kayne, and Orion by my side from the beginning, and I won’t push them away for you or anyone else.”
“I don’t want you to do that. Just include me in the mix,” Azazel said.
“Okay, I agree.”
“I won’t make the same mistake twice, baby.”
“I know you won’t.”
Uriel leaned in and pressed their lips together and moaned when their cocks rubbed together. They had made love twice that day, but Uriel wanted his mate once more, and it seemed Azazel felt the same way. For the remainder of their bath, they needed no words. They simply let their bodies do all the talking.
CHAPTER NINETEEN
Uriel knocked on the doorof the mayor’s mansion, waiting for Rosemary to answer the door. It was the following day and Uriel had to drag Azazel out of bed when the other man tried to keep him in it.
“You know we can just enter the house. Rosemary has an open-door policy.”
“It’s not polite,” Uriel admonished.
“Dad’s right, Father,” Kristoph said. “We shouldn’t be impolite.”
Uriel looked down at his son and smiled. He’d given Kristoph an abridged version about why he was doubling for Blue Lennox. When Kristoph heard they were going to Vale Valley, he begged to tag along, stating he wanted to get to know Blue Lennox since they were going to be working together.
“Fine, I’ll listen to you both,” Azazel said.
Seconds later, the door opened, and Rosemary Vale’s smiling face appeared. In her hand, she was holding an adorable baby girl with bright blue eyes and curly blonde hair. Uriel had heard that Rosemary had a baby and had gotten married to Odin a year ago. Uriel had to admit Rosemary looked radiant, and he wished her well.
“Uriel, Azazel,” Rosemary said. “You’re both here just in time.”
“In time for what?” Azazel asked.
There was a sparkle in her eyes, and Uriel had a weird feeling in his stomach.
“For lunch, I invited a couple of people over.”
“Oh, um…we can come back later,” Uriel said. “I just wanted to drop off a gift for the baby and thank you for taking care of my friend, but we can come back later after your guests leave.”
“Stop talking nonsense,” Rosemary said. “Come inside. This lunch is also for you.”
She stepped to the side, and before Uriel could object, Azazel pushed him inside.
“And who is this handsome little one?” Rosemary asked.
