“Okay, I’ll see you when you get here,” Uriel told Synder.
They hung up, and Uriel took Synder’s advice and took a nap, since there wasn’t anywhere he could go or anything to do for the meantime.

Azazel grittedhis teeth in frustration. It was after midnight and he was sitting in a fucking meeting discussing how to update security on set and reworking The Traveller’s filming schedule back to a undetermined time, since no one knew when Blue was going to wake up and what would happen when he did. According to the report, he’d lost a lot of blood and would need up to a month to recuperate.
“Sir, I think we need to call the hospital once more and ask about Blue’s progress.”
Azazel heard the question, but he didn't give a response. He knew the question was important, but his mind couldn’t focus. He wanted to be at his lover’s bedside and be the first one Uriel saw when he opened his eyes. Instead, he was in a damn meeting being the concerned boss and not the worried lover.
He’d been at Uriel’s penthouse, waiting like a dutiful lover for his beauty to get home from a hard day’s work. Azazel figured Uriel would be exhausted and wanted to give him a bit of pampering before the table reading the following morning. After settling Kristoph in bed for the night, Azazel went about preparing for what he’d hoped would be a pleasurable night.
First, he’d set the mood by drawing a hot bath, making the water hot enough to burn skin but it would be perfect by the time Uriel got home. He’d found some candles and placed them around the tub, ready to be lit by the snap of his fingers. Slow rhythm and blues music playing low in the background.
After Azazel and Kristoph got home from dinner, he’d been given the twenty-dollar tour. While preparing things for the night, Azazel shamelessly snooped around Uriel’s room and was pleased to find toys, lubes, and massage oil that had yet to be opened. His beauty had been a good little angel while they were separated, and with all the options he had found, Azazel planned on putting the soundproof walls to the test by torturing Uriel until he was breathless.
Azazel’s penthouse was similar to Uriel’s, and he loved both kitchens, and despite Uriel’s love of junk food, the fridge was filled with fresh fruits and vegetables. He got busy putting together a fruit platter. He’d turned on the TV in the background, when he’d heard the news that Blue Lennox was taken to the hospital after being stabbed and was in critical condition.
Azazel’s heart had stopped for a second when he heard the news. He knew that Uriel was doubling for Blue Lennox, but Azazel couldn’t understand how his lover had gotten hurt and hadn't instantly healed his wounds. Azazel was certain that it wasn’t part of a plan Uriel and his friends had cooked up, because they seemed just as concerned as him. When he contacted Kayne Vale, Azazel had every intention of asking about Uriel, but it seemed his lover hadn’t told his friends they were back together. He had to admit their reunion was recent, but Azazel was ready to scream it from the rooftops.
“Sir. Mister King, we need to contact the hospital and have a press conference to update the public on Blue’s progress,” someone said, cutting into his thoughts.
“Who are you?” Azazel asked. He looked at the person who'd spoken, not recognizing him.
“I’m Stanley Paul, head of Abandon Human Resources.”
Azazel went to speak, but Synder Vale walked into the conference room and over to him, speaking in a low voice for Azazel's ears alone.
“Don’t overreact, but Uriel is awake. He’s fine, but a little weak and unable to heal himself for a few more hours. He was stabbed with a knife that was crafted by Gadriel.”
Azazel looked at Synder, hearing that, and wondered what the hell he was talking about. What knife?Azazel turned and addressed the conference room. “Everyone except for Kayne and Synder leave,” he demanded.
“But, sir,” the Stanley Paul guy spoke up again, but Azazel didn’t want to hear what he had to say. He was happy that Uriel was awake, and he wanted to rush to him, but he needed more information on what Synder said about Gadriel.
“You’re fired!” Azazel directed his pent-up ire at the guy and didn’t feel any regret. “Now get the fuck out before I fire every one of you.”
Azazel had never seen grown adults scatter like flies. Once everyone was gone he turned back to Synder. “I take it Uriel told you we’re back together,” Azazel said.
“Yup, but don’t think we've forgiven you for cheating on him and causing all of his torment.”
“Listen to me carefully. I don’t care if you forgive me or like me, but I’ve never and will never cheat on Uriel. He is my mate!”
“Okay,” Synder said, after a few moments of silence. “I believe you.”
“Just like that?” Azazel wondered if he was going crazy or if his lover knew that there was something off about his friends. Uriel was in the hospital and they were talking about insignificant things. “Fuck it, I’ve wasted enough time here, I’m going to see my mate.”
Azazel stood, as well as Kayne who had been quiet during the entire meeting. He walked over to his mate and circled his arm around Synder's waist. “We’ll go with you.”
Azazel nodded. “I hope you don’t mind being teleported?”
Both men looked at each other, silently communicating, and Azazel felt jealous. He wanted those days back with Uriel where with one look, he’d know what the other man was thinking. After a few seconds, the two men turned to look at Azazel. “It’s no problem at all,” Kayne said.
Azazel nodded and placed his hands on their shoulders and teleported them to Uriel’s hospital room. He stepped away from the two men and rushed over to his lover, who opened his eyes and yelped in surprise when Azazel picked him up.
“What the hell?” Uriel punched him weakly in the chest. “Put me down.”
“Behave and let me hold you for a bit,” Azazel whispered.
