“Calm down, Blue, I won’t leave,” Uriel soothed and gently pushed him back down on the bed. Uriel looked at Khray who seemed very hurt by Blue’s rejection, but there wasn’t anything that he could do about that. Uriel shifted his gaze to Kayne. “Go get the doctor.”
“I’m on it.” Kayne left the room and looked at Blue, who was staring at Uriel.
“It’s going to be okay.” Uriel said the words, but he wasn’t sure if he was reassuring himself or Blue.
CHAPTER SIX
Uriel moaned, licking thechocolate ice cream from the corner of his mouth. He had spent a lot more time working with Blue, Khray, and his friends than he was expecting to. Uriel was thankful it was still early enough to take Kristoph out to eat and stop by their favorite ice cream joint.
Since it was a sensitive situation, everyone agreed it would be better to move Blue out of the hospital and to one of the safe houses the company had set up. Synder and Kayne made the necessary arrangements, as well as securing a private doctor and nurse to take care of Blue. Everyone was hoping that Blue Lennox would get his memories back soon. Even with his lost memories, Uriel got a certain feeling from Blue he wasn't ready to put into words yet.
“Dad,” Kristoff said, getting his attention.
“What’s up?”
“Your new job. How long is it going to be this time?”
“I don’t know. It’ll take longer than a couple of weeks, probably months. Why?”
“I met a guy today who said I could be an actor.”
Uriel stopped and looked at his son. “What guy? What’s his name? What did he look like? And where was Shepard when you met this guy?”
“Dad, calm down. He gave me his card, and Shepard was next to me when I bumped into the guy.”
Kristoph reached into his pocket and pulled out a card and gave it to Uriel, who took it and recognized the name on the card. Jacqui's Steele. Uriel knew who Jacqui's was, he was a former actor turned agent. He was also a friend of Alphonso who was Synder and Kayne’s son, working as an entertainment lawyer. Jacqui’s had moved to Vale Valley after meeting his lover, but conducted his business in Valleywood.
Uriel looked at Kristoph speculatively. He’d never heard Kristoph wanting to be an actor. “Do you want to become an actor?”
“Um...I’ve been thinking about it for a while,” Kristoph whispered then looked down. “But I’m not sure if I’d be good at it.”
“Of course you’d be good at it, you’re my kid.” Uriel smiled. "But you have to be sure that it’s something you want to do. You’re about to start your freshman year of high school and it might be a lot of stress.”
“School I can handle,” Kristoph asserted.
“Really?”
“Of course.” He looked down for a second then back at Uriel. “Dad, would you be okay if I give this a try?”
“I’ve never stopped you from doing anything you wanted to do. So if you want to be an actor, I’ll support you, and if you change your mind later and want to do something else, I’ll encourage you then as well.”
“Really?” Kristoph said excitedly.
“Yes, really. I’ll give Jacqui's a call tomorrow and work things out with him.” Uriel smiled and ruffled Kristoph's hair, smiling. "He's a friend of Alphonso, so I'll give him a call as well."
“Thanks, Dad. You’re pretty cool.” He beamed, and Uriel melted under his son’s compliment.
“You realize this is going to be hard, and it comes with difficulties,” he said seriously. “But no matter what, I will be there for you.”
“I do.” Kristoph nodded. “But I’m willing to try. Mister Steele said if you agree, he could get me an audition for a role in the new TV series that’s going to start shooting in a couple of weeks. He said it’s a big part and I would have to be on the set a lot.”
Uriel raised a brow. “Well, that’s pretty cool!”
Uriel wondered if it was the same series Blue Lennox was going to be working on. Uriel decided to keep the identity of his new client from Kristoph for a bit longer. He wanted his son to do his best and not feel pressured knowing that he might be working with his dad.
“Let's get things settled with Jacqui's first, then you can concentrate on the audition.” Uriel lightly pinched his right cheek, and Kristoph scowled, backing away from him. Uriel knew how much his son didn’t like to be treated as a child, but he couldn’t help it. Kristoph was simply too adorable.
“Okay.” He smiled, and Uriel didn’t miss the blush on his son’s cheeks.
