“Find out where Azazel sent Gadriel. He is vital to this operation. I’m ready to take my position as the lord of the angels, as well as lay claim to the man I love,” Micha said.

“What the hell are you talking about?” Benito yelled.

“Kill him,” Micha ordered, and Azazel could only suspect he was talking about killing Benito LaCava. “We have his army under our control, so he’s no longer useful.”

“As you wish, my lord,” Dagon said.

Seconds later, Azazel and Uriel scented burned flesh wafting under the door and they knew Benito had been burned to ashes. Uriel shook his head. Poor Benito didn't even have a chance to protest or beg for his life before he was killed.

“Inform Stanley Paul that he is now the leader of the Faywood Guild and to wait for me to send him instructions.”

“Yes, my lord,” Dagon said. “My lord, I…”

“What is it? Hurry up, I don’t have all night. The poison I fed Dio should be working to weaken his powers and soon it will be easy to kill him. I need to return before he realizes I’m gone.”

“It’s about Uriel, my lord.”

“What about him?”

Azazel looked at Uriel, who was sending a text message to someone on his phone, not paying attention to the rest of the conversation. However, Azazel wanted to know what they were talking about.

“Are you sure you want him by your side? He hasn’t been seen since he disappeared three years ago.”

“Who says he hasn’t been seen?” Micha asked. “Are you so blind that you haven’t noticed he’s been in front of you for the past few weeks?”

“What are you talking about?”

“Blue Lennox. Uriel has been pretending to be the singer you’re so in lust with,” Micha’s voice sounded as if they were discussing the news, but Azazel could hear Dagon’s surprised gasp.

“Blue… how long?”

“Dammit, do I have to tell you every-fucking-thing!”

“My lord, I’m sorry, I must not have been paying attention.”

“Forget it, after all these years my plans are almost complete. I’ll kill Dio, you will kill Azazel, and I will have Uriel all to myself.” Micha sighed. “I thought torturing him for those twenty years meant he would get over Azazel, but it seems the man still has a hold on his heart.”

“But why Uriel, my lord? You could have anyone you want…”

“When I was a young cherub and would run away to the human realm to play with the kids, I got myself caught up in something, and he saved my life,” Micha said. “It was a few years before his human death, so I asked Dio to save his soul when he died. I thought he would have remembered me when he came to the heavenly realm, but he didn’t. While we were growing and learning together, I found I liked him and not just as a friend. When it was time, I asked Dio to match us, but he wanted to test Uriel’s strength and sent him to kill Azazel. I doubt anyone thought they would fall into bed together and have a child.”

Azazel smiled, hearing the jealousy and anger in Micha’s voice. He looked at Uriel, who rolled his eyes and lightly patted Azazel on his chest.

“That bastard took something that belonged to me, and now I will take everything that matters to him,” Micha said. “I will let Dio watch his son die.”

“But my lord, won’t that make Dio happy? We all know he hates his son,” Dagon reasoned.

“He doesn’t hate him as much as we were all led to believe.” Micha sighed. “I won’t go into it, simply do what I ordered you to do.”

Hoping to catch Micha before he teleported, Azazel kicked the door open and saw Dagon was sitting behind his desk.

Micha, that fucker, got away.

“My lord!” Dagon said in surprise.

“Cut the my lord bullshit,” Azazel snapped. “I heard you talking to Micha.”

Dagon stood and shoved his hands in his pocket then lowered his head. Azazel didn’t know what he was thinking or what he was about to do. Dagon's shoulders started to shake, and he raised his head as laughter burst from him.
