“I get you love your big brother, but maybe he’s shy when it comes to making the first move,” Rosemary said.
“You know we could just ask him,” LaMarkus said. “He’s standing right here, and I’m sure he can hear us.”
“Of course he can. That’s the point, dad.” Grayson sighed.
Alistaire chuckled. He wasn’t bothered that they were talking about him while he was in the room. It was his family, and it was all in good fun. That being said, he wasn’t going to answer their questions. He sat down in the empty chair at the breakfast table and dug into his yogurt, pretending not to see the curious eyes on him. He’d spent an incredible first date with Crevan and couldn’t wait for many more.
They ended the night with sweet kisses and promises of more time together. He was enjoying getting to know Crevan. He’d been surprised when Crevan said he wanted to be a lawyer. For a second, Alistaire thought he was looking at his lost lover but realized they were completely different in their reasons.
They were not the same. They had different desires and wants from personal to professional. While Fox Morgan enjoyed being a cop, his desire to be a lawyer was simply because he wanted a new challenge. On the other hand, Crevan wanted something more, not only for himself but also for his daughter.
“So, are you going to tell us or what?” Chance asked.
“Tell you what?” Alistaire smirked.
“How did your date go?” Synder asked.
“Shouldn’t you all be at work or something?” Alistaire asked, delaying his response.
“Don’t make me hurt you,” Kayne growled.
“Why are you guys so interested in my dating life?”
“Because you haven’t dated in the time you’ve been here,” Grayson replied.
“It was a date.” Alistaire shrugged his shoulders. “Nothing to report.”
“Lies.” Synder chuckled. “I can smell the happiness coming off you.” He scratched the tip of his nose. “It’s making my nose itch.”
“I gotta agree,” Kayne added.
Alistaire smiled, knowing they’d be able to smell his lie. Finishing off his yogurt, Alistaire stood, grabbing a sweet roll along with his empty container, dumping it in the trash before picking up his coffee. He was about to walk out of the kitchen but stopped and turned to his family.
“Get used to seeing him because Crevan Hannigan is my mate.”
He hurried out of the kitchen and the house before anyone could stop him. Alistaire chuckled, hearing the loud cheers coming from his family inside the house, just as he was closing the door.

Fox sighedas his mind wandered about his date with Alistaire the night before. He had such a wonderful time he couldn’t wait to see the man again. He’d gotten a text earlier that morning from Alistaire, asking if they could have lunch together, but sadly he had promised Aria he’d run some errands for her.
Maybe we can accidentally bump into each other.
Fox touched his chapped lips, recalling their kiss at the gazebo that had stolen not only his breath but his soul. Alistaire Vale was magnetic, and the way he held Fox in his arms made him forget the entire world existed.
“Fox, did you hear me?”
“Huh?”
Fox pulled out of his daze and looked at his brother, who was sitting across from him. Aria and Barret had already left for the wine store, Moressa was still getting ready for work, and Corbin was wherever he went throughout the day, leaving him to have breakfast with Zev.
Fox wasn’t sure what Corbin did for a living. When he’d been introduced to the family, he’d worked in real estate, like Moressa. But over the years, he’d lost interest and was doing gods knew what these days.
“What did you say? I wasn’t listening.”
“I asked what are your plans for today?”
“Oh, I promised mom and dad I’d do some deliveries for them.”
