Quintus sat beside her and pulled her back into his arms. “Never be afraid to tell me shit, Sareena. I’ll always love and be here for you. No matter what.”

“Thanks, Quinny.”

“Anytime.”

They stayed like that for a few minutes before going home and telling their parents.

“I toldyou my fish dreams always come true,” Elizabella said.

“Yeah, Mama. You were right.”

“I’m sorr—” Sareena started.

“No, you don’t,” his mom said, stopping her. “Am I shockedyou got pregnant so early in life? Yes. But I am not going to turn my back on you. Things happen in life that we cannot control. No matter how much we think we can.” She turned to Zion, the young man Sareena was in love with. “Do you promise to do right by my daughter? To love and care for her and be the father this child needs?”

“Yes, ma’am. I know we might be young, but I love her,” Zion said, sitting down beside her.

“That’s all we can ask for, young man,” Gabriel said. “But if you do anything to hurt her…”

Gabriel didn’t get a chance to finish before Zion cut him off. “You don’t need to threaten me, sir. Sareena already did.”

“Really?” Elizabella said in shock and a bit of pride. “What did she say?”

“If I ever do anything to break her heart, I wouldn’t live to see another birthday.”

Quintus looked down at his hands to hold back his laughter. He knew his sister was a tough kid, but he had no clue she’d go as far as threatening her mate. That had to take some balls.

“Good,” Gabriel said. “But let me add more to that. If you ever lay a hand on her in anger, pray the gods hide you from me.”

“I would never do that, sir. I would rather cut my hands off than hurt her. Plus, my dad would kick my ass if I did something like that.”

“When can we meet your parents, young man?” Elizabella asked.

“Soon, I hope. I haven’t told them yet,” Zion answered. “Sareena wanted to tell you guys first.”

“Then we need to fix that,” Gabriel interjected.

Realizinghe wasn’t needed any longer, Quintus got up and walked to the front door, but was stopped by Sareena.

“Hey.”

He turned, and she hugged him tightly. “Thanks for being here with me.”

“You’re my baby sis. Of course, I would be here for you.”

He stepped back, looking her in the face, noticing that she was no longer a little girl.

“Just keep your promise that you’ll finish school.” He knew Sareena said she would, but he wanted to make sure.

“I’m not giving up my dreams, big brother. You taught me never to give up on the things we want.”

“Good.” He leaned down and kissed her on her forehead. “Be happy, little sis.”

“You too, Quinny,” she said. “Whoever he is, make sure he loves you just as much as Zion loves me.”

“But there’s no one.”
