Quintus looked at him and smiled. “I love you, too.”
They shared a sweet kiss before they separated, and Quintus gazed down at the baby in his arms. “I want us to rebuild the house and fill it with joy. I want our kids to grow up here and see that even in bad times, good things can come out of it.”
“I’ll give you anything you want, as long as you stay by my side.”
“I’m not going anywhere. You have me until eternity.”
“Promise?” Scott asked.
Quintus raised his head and kissed him. “With all my heart.”
Epilogue
“Godling,” Odin yelled.
“Vampire,” shouted Vladimir.
Back and forth they went, and it was driving Quintus up the fucking wall.
He was in his sixth month, and his stomach looked as if there were two beach balls stuffed under his shirt. It was a couple of months after the incident, and things were getting back to normal. The dark cloud that had descended over Vale Valley for those few hours had been lifted. Thankfully, the residents had not been affected by what had happened.
The gods had done an excellent job setting things back to normal, while keeping their true identities a secret. He had thanked everyone who’d helped Scott search for him and Sareena, and for fighting off the beings Loki had set loose in the town.
Quintus couldn’t believe most of Vale Valley had come out to help Scott search for him. It brought back the reasons why he loved the small town. His mother and Gabriel had been besides themselves with worry. Elizabella had even wanted to help in the fight, but Mohe and Gabriel had convinced her it was better to be at the hospital when Sareena arrived.
Sareena and Zion were now the proud parents of three girls—Kele, Kasa, and Kai. The girls were a mixture of them both and obviously the apples of their eyes. Sareena had been impressed and had fallen more in love with her mate when she’d heard how hard he’d fought against Loki for her.
He touched the collar around his neck and smiled, thinking about the night before. Even though he was pregnant, he and Scott still had their playtime. The night before they’d role-played as nurse and doctor. He was getting aroused just thinking about the things Scott had done to his body that’d had him seeing more than stars.
“Are they still at it?” Asa asked, coming to stand beside him.
“Yes,” Quintus answered. “And you say this happens every time there’s a new birth in the family?”
“Yup, get used to it,” Braxton said.
Quintus found out what the rivalry was between the two men. Each time a new child was born into the family, they would each make a bet whether it would be a demigod or a vampire. So far, they were tied between Roman and TaNia’s kids.
“I don’t know how much longer I can take this shit,” Quintus grumbled, leaning against the wall and crossing his hands over his baby bump.
They were living in Quintus’s house until their new home was finished being built. When the being had disappeared, the horrible smell had gone away which had made Scott and Quintus happy that they were able to start remodeling their home. He’d persuaded his mate to go with a more modern and up-to-date decoration, but still keeping to his rule of not too much technology. Mohe had moved into Scott’s old house—he’d fallen in love with it after the large family brunch. Loki had disappeared, and no one knew where he was. Quintus looked over at the man dressed in all black, with long midnight hair and black ink eyes that were heavily line with black eyeliner.
“Why exactly is Azazel here, again?”
“Donald told him he didn’t want anything to do with him or Uriel, so…” Braxton said.
“He’s here to bug the shit out of us,” Quintus finished.
When he and Scott had walked out of the house after Sareena and her cubs were taken to the hospital, he had been shocked to see Donald there—with large black and white wings no less. He’d spotted Odin arguing with two other men who Quintus later found out were Azazel and Uriel, who’d turned out to also be Donald’s parents.
Thinking about it, Quintus felt bad for his friend. He’d lived his entire life believing he was human, only to find out he was an angel and his parents were Azazel, who was once one of God's highly ranked angels but fell from his ranks for reasons unknown to him and Uriel, who was still counted among God’s top ranked angels.
They had abandoned him as a child.
Quintus wasn't sure how to help Donald, but he would be there for his friend any time he needed him. It did make him happy that Fenrir hadn’t left Donald’s side since he’d found out about his parents.
Quintus sighed rolled his eyes, looking at the two older men who were acting like children. He was getting tired of their game, even if he found it a bit adorable. He stepped in between the two arguing men.
“Why are you two being so mean?” He pouted and rubbed his stomach, batting his eyes as if he was going to cry. “The cubs don’t like it. All this noise is making them kick me really hard.” He bent over pretending that his cubs had kicked him, and both Vladimir and Odin grabbed him on either side.
