"Yes, tell us," his sire said.
"I bought a house. I'm moving out of this apartment,” Scott said proudly. His parents had been trying to get him to move out of his small apartment for years, but he hadn’t been ready. He kept thinking that he would move on when he got tired of Vale Valley, but he'd been a part of its conception and didn't see himself leaving anytime soon. “I’ll finally have enough room to have an office, playroom, and studio like I’ve always wanted. Plus when family comes to visit, I don’t have to worry about them staying at the Inn.”
"Well, that is good news. I can’t wait to see it, and I’m glad you decided to settle down in a way,” his sire said. "So, when do you move?"
"Not for a couple more months. I bought one of the older homes that needed to be fixed up a bit. I called Quintus Wolfe to come out and give me an estimate on how much it's going to cost and how long."
"Well, if you need any help let us know," his bearer said standing and pulling sire with him. "Let's go, my dearest. I need you.”
“You look hungry, my love,” Armand whispered, cupping Braxton’s cheek.
“I’m starved, my darling. Take me home and feed me.” Braxton turned and kissed Armand’s palm.
"You two can never be apart for that long, can you," Rosemary commented.
“Speaking of being apart. Rose dear, have you seen my father lately? I heard Odin paid a visit to earth. I was wondering if he came to see you.” The smirk on his bearer’s face told Scott something was going on. "Or was it just a rumor? You know how the gods likes to gossip."
"Will you two get out of here," Rosemary said, getting up and started cleaning up the table. “Come on Scott, let’s get this place cleaned up. Thank your Sire for a great meal so they can leave.”
Okay, Rosemary is never flustered, what does the mention of grand-Odin being on Earth have to do with her? Are they dating?
His bearer walked over to him and kissed him on the cheek. “Once I’m done filming, I’ll be back to help you decorate. Maybe by then, you will have met your mate.”
“Come along, love. Let’s leave Scott alone,” his sire said, stepping behind his bearer.
“How would you like to get home?” Braxton asked Armand.
“The fastest way that will have you n—”
They were gone, thankfully before Armand could finish his words.
“Those two,” Rosemary said, shaking her head.
“They are so in love, it’s a bit nauseating and sweet at the same time,” Scott said with a smile.
“I’m happy to see them like that. There was a time I thought they wouldn’t make it this far. Your grandfathers were pretty hard on them.”
“I know,” Scott said. Odin wasn’t the only one who had issues with his parents mating. It took Vladimir a while to come to grips that Braxton really loved Armand and he wasn’t using him as a means to stay tethered on Earth.
Rosemary stepped closer to him and cupped his cheeks. “They are not the only ones who will have to fight for the one they love.”
Scott stared at Rosemary for a few seconds, wondering why she would say that and then it hit him. “Did Katarina see something?”
Katarina Vale was the sheriff’s wife, as well as a daughter of the sea, which meant she was a distant cousin. She was more than a mermaid but a demi who came into her seer abilities when she turned one-hundred years old. He loved Katarina dearly, but there were times she got things wrong when it came to her premonitions.
“You don’t believe in her visions, remember?”
“It’s not that I don’t believe,” Scott said. “I just think her premonitions can be left up to interpretation.”
“Even after all the things you know about our world, why is that the one thing you refuse to believe in?” Rosemary asked.
Scott didn’t say anything. Truthfully, he wasn’t sure he could give her an answer. Maybe it was the idea of knowing something was going to happen and there was nothing he or anyone else could do to stop it from developing. Scott knew Katarina lived with one regret and it was that she hadn’t received her abilities before Trenton died. She lived with the hurt that she couldn’t have stopped his death. But he also knew Rosemary had never blamed Katarina for not knowing that her mate was going to die.
“What does she want me to know?”
“Live in the moment,” Rosemary said.
“And what?” he asked confused.
