Chapter Fifteen
Winter walked into the kitchen and was about to turn and leave when he saw Creed sitting at the table eating his lunch.
It had been two weeks since they last spoke to each other. The night they had their argument he was awake when Creed returned and waited for his mate to join him in bed so that they could talk. But Winter was disappointed when Creed grabbed some sheets and blankets before going downstairs to sleep on the couch, where he'd been sleeping for the past two weeks.
They still took care of Connor like usual, only they didn't talk to each other. Winter hated that it had gone on so long and even admitted to himself that he was part of the reason. After he had some time to cool down and think, he realized why Creed hadn't told him in the beginning. Even after reading the information on both Terry and Jarrod, he still didn't believe it. But he also acknowledged that his jealousy over Riley and Creed's close friendship was part of why he got angry.
It would have been better if I hadn't known that they used to sleep together.
Winter missed Creed so much it was breaking his heart. He could also feel their mating bond stretching to the limits since they were newly mated. Winter also missed having his mate holding him at night while they fell asleep.
This has gone on for far too long.
He realized that he was being petty and could apologize and let the silence end between them. But then he would have to apologize first, and that wasn't going to happen. It might be petty, but it was time to drive Creed crazy to make him apologize first. His mother told him he was being petty and stubborn. She also said that he should give in and talk to his mate. But he was never one to give in first, even when he knew he was wrong.
I should have known she would have sided with Creed.
Winter took a deep breath and let his pheromones seep out slowly as he walked over to the fridge, getting the fresh strawberries he'd been craving all day along with the whipped cream. Sitting down beside Creed, he took up the fruit and dipped it into the cream and slowly brought it to mouth biting into the strawberry, letting some of the juices dribble down the sides of his mouth. Out of the corner of his eye, Winter could see Creed shifting and staring at him. He did the same thing three more times, letting more of his pheromones out with each bite.
He went to reach for his next strawberry but froze when Creed reached for a fruit then reached across him and dipped it into the cream. He slowly brought the cream covered fruit up, stopping halfway to Winter's mouth. Winter held his breath for a second, hoping that his trick had worked and Creed was going to give in finally. But just like he was playing a game, it seemed Creed was as well and brought the strawberry to his mouth taking a large bite, moaning as if it was the sweetest nectar from the gods he’d ever tasted.
Winter watched it all as if it was happening in slow motion. He wanted to lick off the cream that was left on the side of Creed's lips but held himself back. Winter was so turned on he didn't care who apologized first in that second until his mate gave him a cocky smirk. Angry, he pushed the bowl of fruit away, stood and went to walk away, but Creed grabbed him around the waist and pulled him into his lap.
"I hate this," Creed whispered in his ear. "I hate not sleeping next to you, not talking to you, and not being able to touch you whenever I want. I'm sorry, I should have told you instead of Riley what..."
Winter didn't want to hear anymore, he turned his head and captured his mates lips, moaning at how sweet he tasted. He felt like a man thirsty for his lover’s touch. "Don’t ever do that again," Winter told him once their mouth separated.
"What, kiss you?"
"No, sleeping on the couch. I don't care how mad we are with each other, never sleep away from me. I...I can't take it."
"I'll admit I haven't slept much in the past two weeks," Creed pressed their foreheads together. "I missed you so much."
Winter cupped his cheek, finding that he couldn't stop touching his mate. "I'm sorry I let my jealousy cloud my common sense."
"I kind of like that. Granted, Riley and I stopped sleeping with each other years before we met. But it kind of felt good knowing that you're possessive."
"Don't let it go to your head," Winter said with a smile.
Creed chuckled as he slipped a hand underneath his shirt, rubbing a finger on his lower back while slipping the rest down the small opening in his jeans.
"What are you doing?" Winter asked, knowing exactly what his mate was up to.
"It's been two weeks since I felt your tight sweet ass wrapped around me, squeezing every drop of cum from me."
Winter was panting breathlessly and groaned when he leaned in and sucked on his neck, his hands slid down to Creed's shoulders and were about to push him away but couldn't. "We...we need to talk. There are some things we need to work out.”
"Can't we do that later? Isn't there a rule that after a fight we have passionate make-up sex?"
Creed trailed his mouth from Winter's neck to his lips, stopping him from thinking and speaking.Creed stood, lifting Winter in his arms. He moaned when his back lightly hit the wall as Creed pressed and ground his hard cock against his erection.
“Shit,” Creed growled in their kiss. “Want you.”
They were frenzied for each other. Winter clawed at Creed trying to feel his mate’s skin. He finally felt their connection locking back in place after two weeks of not touching each other. He couldn’t let them go so long without being close to each other.
“Need you,” Winter said when Creed peppered kisses down to his neck, sucking on his skin.
“You have me.” Creed pulled him off the wall and started walking out of the kitchen. “When is your mom bringing Connor home?”
