His friend looked the same as the day he and Caroline had met the man. Long silky black hair, that was pull back from his face, with large sunglasses. The hunter green and purple highlights in his hair were new, but it was still the same Terry he and Caroline had met a few years ago.

Terry’s outfit was more toned down than normal, but it wasn’t without the sparkle that was Terry. Tight, low-waisted jeans with a large studded belt and a black button-down shirt. As always, his makeup was on point. Caroline was jealous of how perfect Terry’s makeup was each time they saw him.

“He’s a baby, not a bomb, Terry,” Winter told him. “And didn’t you just call him adorable?”

“Yes, he is, but his looks are deceiving. They pull you in with their cuteness, and they show their true colors, by peeing, pooping, and spitting up on you. No thanks, you can hold him, and I will admire him from over there.”

“You do realize one day you will find a mate and he will get pregnant making you a daddy, which means you will have to hold the baby.”

“Bite your tongue, Winter Di Matteo. I refuse to fall for all that forever mate crap. I like having my freedom to fu…to be with anyone I want when the mood strikes. I’m not now, nor will I ever be, the settling down type.”

He sauntered off into the kitchen leaving him and Creed who was shaking his head.

“Did you know he was coming?” Creed asked.

“Nope, I never do,” he said turning to Creed. “Thanks for waking up with Connor.”

Creed shrugged. “It’s cool, it's a good thing that I’m waking up in the mornings and not the evenings.” He looked at his watch. “Anyway, I’m glad you are finally up because I need to get going.”

“Oh yeah, I thought you’d be gone already.”

“I scheduled it for the afternoon. I wasn’t sure I’d be able to concentrate if I took it in the morning.”

“Good luck, but I know you’ll pass.”

“Thanks.” Creed smiled.

“Well, go on. Get out of here.”

“I’m going to stop by Richard’s office before I come home. I want to get a look at the place before I introduce myself to the staff on Monday. I’d hoped to meet his business partner, but he’s out of town.”

“Jarrod had been the one to travel out of town for business deals after Caroline got pregnant. Have you figured out what you’re going to do with your shares?”

“I’m going to keep Richard’s dream alive and add mine to it. Once Riley gets settled, he’ll call me and we’ll go from there.”

Winter wasn’t sure he was ready to meet one of Creed’s past lover’s. He already didn’t like the fact that they were going into business together. He wanted his mate to fulfill his dream, but Winter was not above admitting that he was jealous that Creed would be spending a lot of time with a man that used to be his lover. Creed kissed him, pulling him from his thoughts of scratching Riley’s eyes out the first time he saw him.

“I’ll see you later,” Creed said then tilted his head smiling as he started at Winter.

“What? What’s with the smile?”

“Riley is just my friend.” He kissed him again. “Drink your coffee before it gets too cold.”

“I wasn’t thinking about Riley,” he defended even though he knew he was lying.

Creed chuckled. “If you say so, baby,” he said walking to the door. “Have fun with your friend. I’ll see you later.”

Winter looked down at Connor who was still awake in his arms. “When we meet Riley, make sure you cry every time he tries to hold you.” Connor smiled as if agreeing to his plan.

“Never knew you had a devious streak.”

Winter looked up at Terry who was leaning against the wall. “I have no idea what you are referring to.”

“That’s a good boy, deny everything. I’ve taught you well, my young one.” He winked and walked back into the kitchen.

“I’m not a dog you know,” was Winter’s comeback.
