Creed watched Winter pick up his coffee cup and walk out of the kitchen, he’d had a hectic morning, and it wasn’t even noon. He turned his attention to the envelopes that had the name of the same law office that had informed him of Richard’s death. He took out the documents and read through all the legal jargon that he didn’t understand. He scanned the document looking for his name, Richard had left his fifty-one percent shares of Makami Architectural and Design to him and all of his worldly possessions. Creed understood that part along with any children that Richard and Caroline had would be left in the care of him and Winter Di Matteo.
Creed finished reading the will and refolded it putting it back into the envelope, making a note to get in touch with Richard’s lawyer. He stared at the other letter, wondering if he should read it right then. He wasn’t sure if he was ready to read what might have been his brother’s last words. Pushing the unopened envelope to the center of the table Creed got up and walked out of the kitchen heading straight to Connor’s room hoping to see Winter. He was surprised when he didn’t see the other man wasn’t in the baby’s room. Walking over to the crib he leaned against it and lightly ran the pad of his finger along Connor’s cheek.
“What are we going to do, Connor?”
He and Winter were going to need to come to an understanding on how to raise the baby together. Creed didn’t want to go against Richard’s request. It was the least he could do. Sighing, he stood then walked across the hall and knocked on Winter’s bedroom door.
Creed leaned against the door frame, looking down the hall as he waited for the other man to answer. His head snapped to the side when the door opened, and the sweetest most enticing scent caught him off guard.
Omega mate.
Winter stood in front of him with clean, freshly showered skin with a towel wrapped around his waist, and another around his neck. His cock hardened in his jeans and goosebumps washed over him. Winter’s eyes widened then he tilted his head to the side, bearing his neck in submission. Creed reached up grabbing Winter by the back of his neck and pulled him against him. Winter’s hands went to his chest and Creed was ready to be pushed away, but the other man went to his toes and brushed their lips together.
“I hate that you’re taller than me,” Winter told him before claiming Creed’s lips.
An omega who is not afraid to take what he wants.
Creed moaned long and hard, as his hand went directly to the omega’s ass and was happy to know that he was right, the globes fit perfectly in his palms. He backed Winter up into his bedroom then turned him around, pressing him into the wall. Creed pulled the towel from around the Winter’s waist, letting the soft cotton fall to the floor. He separated their lips long enough to pull off his shirt before he attacked the omega’s mouth again. Their skin touched, and all Creed could think about was having the omega under him and feeling his fingernails clawing into his skin. He was about to lift Winter off his feet when he heard crying in the distance.
Great timing, kid.
Slowly, they both separated, panting breaths mingling together. Creed opened his eyes and watched as Winter blinked his open, he noticed that the blue in the other man’s eyes darkened. He was so turned on he leaned in to kiss his omega again, but Winter stopped him.
“We can’t,” Winter whispered.
Creed was about to protest but stopped when he remembered the reason they’d stopped kissing.
Connor. He comes first, at least one of us is thinking straight.
“I’m not saying we can’t ever. It’s just…”
“I get it,” Creed said cutting him off. “Connor comes first right now.”
“Yeah.”
Creed stepped back and picked up his shirt and put it back on. “You get dressed. I’ll go see to him.”
“Thanks, he probably needs to be changed. I’ll go warm up his bottle.”
“All right,” Creed said then walked back over to Connor’s room and picked up the crying child who was not too happy at the moment. “It’s okay little man. I got you.” He cuddled the baby to his chest and was grateful that he’d stopped crying. He scanned the room noticing the fresh diapers and changing table. “All right let’s get you changed.”
Setting Connor down on the table Creed unbuttoned the bottom part of his sleeper then the sides of his diaper. If Creed could have seen into the future, he could have prevented what was going to happen the second he pulled down the front of Connor’s diaper.
“Oh, Connor, come on little guy,” Creed said fumbling for something to cover the baby and stop the flow of pee from hitting his face. He grabbed the first thing he could get his hands on and threw it over Connor’s lower half. He sighed in relief and wiped his face off with the dry part of his shirt. Creed looked up when he heard snickering coming from the other side of the room.
“Why do I get the feeling you knew this was going to happen?”
“I refuse to answer on the grounds of incriminating myself.”
“Yeah, yeah.” Creed looked down at Connor who seemed pleased as punch with himself.
“I found there’s a trick to changing him,” Winter said walking over to him. He set the bottle down on the changing table. Creed stepped out of the way and watched Winter reach for a clean diaper and place it under his bottom and quickly swapped it out for the dirty one. If he blinked, he would have missed it happen.
"That's a neat trick," Creed told him.
"You learn a thing or two when you get peed on." He winked and smiled at Creed. "Go get cleaned up. Better yet go get some rest, you look like you're about to fall over. We'll deal with things later."
Creed was exhausted and was doing his best to stay up, his body was still on Gulf Standard time and would be sleeping if he was still in the Middle East. But he also knew they needed talk not only about Connor but about them being mates as well.
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah, we aren't going to solve everything in one day."
“You’re right." He sighed, nodded, and walked out of Connor's room to the spare room he'd used earlier.
Damn, who would have thought I'd find my mate the second I got off the plane?
