Winter sighed heavily. “I’m sorry too. I’m not usually like this. I…”

“I get it,” he said cutting off Winter off.

“I tell you what,” he said, getting down off the counter. “How about we call a truce and have a cup of coffee. I can blame being an ass for not having my caffeine fix.”

“You’re forgiven if I can blame being tired for being a jackass.”

“I think those are good excuses for both of us.”

“Then we’ll agree over coffee then.”

Creed started cleaning up the mess he made taking care of Winter’s foot as the other man went about making their coffee. Creed licked his lips and smiled realizing that he’d figured out the perfect way to shut the omega up when he got too mouthy. By sweeping him off his feet, literally.

I’m thinking as if there’s going to be something more than caring for Connor between us.

He shook his head, clearing his thoughts as he sat down in the same chair, he was in earlier, observing the other man. His gaze traveled up and down, realizing earlier that he hadn’t taken his time to appreciate the sexy omega.

Winter was slender but very toned, and a bit shorter than him with dark brown hair, and mesmerizing light blue eyes that had caught his attention earlier. His gaze traveled down to the man’s enticing ass that would fit perfectly in his hand. His skin would redden nicely too after a good spanking if he got mouthy again.

“How do you take your coffee?”

He snapped his eyes up just as Winter turned around. “Um… black.”

“Okay.”

“How’s your foot?” The cut wasn’t that deep as far as he could tell, but he needed something else to distract him.

“It’s fine. It really doesn’t hurt. I’m used to pain, anyway.”

“What do you mean by that?” He felt his protective nature rise to the surface.

“I take boxing three times a week, well, I used to. I haven’t gone since…you know.” He sat down across from Creed and took a sip of his coffee.

That explains why he’s so toned.“Yeah, I get it.”

“So, how do we do this?” Winter asked.

“I don’t know,” he answered then took a sip of his coffee.

“I couldn’t stay there, at their house. Having their pictures up is different, it didn’t feel like a home without them. It feels lonely. Richard had bought it before they found out that Caroline was pregnant.”

He took a sip of his coffee and smiled. “Caroline wanted to fill the house with love. At first she hated it, because she didn't think it suited her personality, but she loved Richard, planned on making it work for her family. So, my dad and I moved all of Connor’s things from there to here.”

Creed wasn’t sure how he was going to enter his brother’s home either.Maybe it’s a good thing that Winter brought Connor’s things here?

“How did you find out about me?”

“I was making funeral arrangements and came across their will.”

“He left a will.”

“Yeah, let me get it.”

Winter stood and left the kitchen only to return a few minutes later. “I’ll leave so you can read it.”

“You don’t have to,” he said looking up.

“No, I think it’s best you read it on your own. There’s also a letter personally addressed to you. I’m going to check on Connor, please take all the time you need.”
