“I will make sure he is dealt with accordingly.”
“Okay, let’s break it up,” his grandmother said getting in between them. “Let’s get down to business.”
“What do you have in mind?” Katarina asked her.
“Dinner of course,” Rosemary said going over to the stove. “Don’t just stand there staring at me, let’s get to work. The only one who can sit on their ass is Sirius and Grayson because they are pregnant.”
“Did you just say that Sirius was pregnant?”
Everyone turned to see Jacqui’s standing at the kitchen threshold with Tamia in his arms.
“Um…” Alphonso started to say but stopped when Jacqui’s spoke again.
“I knew there was something different about you from the moment I met you. So, what are you a vampire or a werewolf? That’s been bugging me for a while now. I could also tell there’s something different about the town the second I got here. I noticed how everyone in town watched their words when talking to me, plus, you guys got all quiet when I walked into Sirius’ hospital room last night. So, he’s pregnant?” Alphonso nodded unable to speak. “That’s new. I don’t know how this all works but congratulations, man.”
“Wait, you’re not freaked out by all of this?” Sirius asked.
“To be honest, no,” Jacqui’s said.
“How come?” Alphonso asked completely confused.
“Because…” Jacqui’s shrugged his shoulders, “I guess I might as well tell you. I've been dating a tiger shifter, things got a bit too much for me, which is why I needed a place to lay low for a bit. You don't need to worry. I promised to keep his secrets and I’m a man of my word.”
“Well, damn,” Sirius said.
“So, your secrets are safe with me.”
“Well, now that it’s all out in the open, let’s get back to preparing dinner,” his grandmother said.
“Can I help?” Jacqui’s asked her.
Alphonso could see how excited he was and couldn’t fault the guy. Rosemary Vale had a way of making anyone feel welcomed.
“Of course, you can,” she told him.
For the rest of that evening, it was like a party at the mayor’s mansion that was filled with family, friends, and laughter.
* * *
Sirius wasin his office a couple of days later when there was a knock on his office door. “Come in.”
He looked up when the door opened, and a cart was pushed inside carrying a dozen large red roses. Intrigued he got up and walked over to the cart, picking up one of the red roses, bringing it to his nose, smiling at the floral scent. He was about to put the rose down when another cart was pushed into his office. This one had a large silver dome sitting on top of it. Lifting the dome, he smiled seeing a red envelope. Picking it up he started chuckling as he read it.
Will you be my Valentine, check yes or no. Once you decide, send the cart with the card.Gods, the man is corny, but I do love him.
Doing as he was instructed Sirius stood waiting to see what else Alphonso had up his sleeve. He couldn’t remove the smile from his lips when his mate entered the office pushing another cart that was covered with a couple of silver domes.
“What would you have done if I said no?” Sirius asked.
“I had a few more tricks up my sleeve,” Alphonso said walking over to him and pulling him close. “So, Tessa told me you are cleared for the next three hours.”
“That’s not right. I thought she said I had a two o’clock appointment.” He went to check his appointment book, but Alphonso stopped him.
"About that," he said with a guilty look on his face.
"Why do I get the feeling you had this planned long before you called Tessa?"
"That's because I did." Alphonso gave him a sexy as fuck smirk that made his toes curl. "I'm your booked appointment for the next three hours."
