Chapter Thirteen

Alphonso

The following morning Alphonso walked into the kitchen of the mayor’s manor to see Sirius preparing breakfast for Tamia.

He could tell that his mate was getting comfortable being around his family and was opening up more with them. He wished that Sirius would sit and talk with Bedwyr or at least get to know the man. He appreciated having his fathers in his life, and even when they butted into his life way too much, he still wouldn’t change a thing.

“Did you get everything taken care of with your client?” Sirius asked looking up from the stove.

“Yeah,” he said walking into the breakfast nook. “What are you making?”

“Little Miss Tamia requested bacon and scrambled eggs this morning.”

“You don’t say?” Alphonso said in surprised.

“Daddy, m… Daddy Siri is making me breakfast for baby and me.”

“Did you hear that?” Sirius asked looking from him to Tamia.

“What baby are you talking about?” Alphonso asked.

“The baby in Daddy Siri’s belly.”

She sounded positively exasperated with him.

“How did she find out?” Sirius asked Alphonso.

“I have no clue. Maybe she just knows,” Alphonso told his mate.

“Can I call him Mommy Siri now?”

Sirius gasped, and Alphonso had to hold back his chuckle. Alphonso had finally let the cat out of the bag when he’d told Sirius that the first time they’d met, Tamia was calling him Mommy. It was the same shocked expression he had on his face at the moment. Alphonso had burst out in laughter until his stomach hurt. They’d also explained to her that Sirius was his mate and would be living with them. With the understanding of a three-year-old, Tamia took it in stride, and nothing else was said, a couple of days later she started calling him Daddy Siri.

“Why don’t we stick to Daddy Siri,” Alphonso said finally answering her question.

“Why does this smell like that?” Sirius mumbled as he covered his mouth and stepped back from the stove.

Instantly Alphonso was on his feet. “What? What’s wrong?”

“The bacon it smells off,” Sirius said behind his hand.

“It doesn’t smell any different than it did yesterday,” Alphonso said a bit confused.

“Are you trying to tell me there’s something wrong with my nose?” Sirius snapped resting his hands on his hips.

“Um…”

“Forget it.” He pushed Alphonso to the side and stomped out of the kitchen.

“What the heck just happened?” he asked then looked at Tamia who shrugged her arms.

“I don no.”

“Me either, baby girl,” he said going over to the stove to finish Tamia’s meal.

“How have you been feeling lately?”Sirius asked Grayson who was laying on the examining table as he gently touched his stomach.
