“Yeah?” There was a bright smile on Brenden’s face, and he didn’t care who saw it.
“I…” Stephen started, then stopped. “I was wondering if you wanted to spend the night again? I liked waking up in your arms.”
That shocked Brenden for a second.
“Brenden, are you still there?”
“Yeah, I am. Your question just shocked me.”
“So I take it as a no?” Stephen asked.
“What brought on that question, anyway? You know what, give me the answer when I get there.”
“Okay.”
They ended their call and Brenden pulled out of Paige’s driveway.
