I smile. “Thank you.”

“What’s with all the makeup today?”

“Why? Do you think I look like trash too?”

His brows pinch. “Who said that? Was it your fuckingdad?”

“What makes you say that?” I ask.

“Jett told me he called you a whore.”

“Oh, right…That...” There’s a twinge of pain inside at the reminder of what he said.

“You didn’t look like any whore I’ve ever seen. And the makeup? I was gonna say you don’t need all that, you’re already perfect without it.”

His warm chocolate eyes hold mine for a beat before he takes his beer and heads to the table to join a couple of the other guys, leaving those words hanging in the air around me.

I stare after him, processing what I’ve just heard.

He thinks I’m perfect?

This guy is giving me a serious case of whiplash, I can’t keep up with him. Just twenty-four hours ago we were at each other’s throats and I was ready to tear his ridiculously perfect hair from his annoyingly perfect head.

But something shifted between us yesterday, I felt it, and I have a pretty good idea that he felt it too.

A short while later, I’m wiping down one of the tables when the click of heels grabs my attention, heels that stop next to Killian’s table.

“Hey, Kill.” I glance out the corner of my eye to find a beautiful blonde parking herself on Killian’s lap, throwing her arm around his shoulders like she belongs there.

“Hey, yourself,” he replies, one hand on his beer and the other remaining on the table.

She shimmies her ass to get more comfortable, her thigh grazing his crotch on purpose. “So you gonna take me for a ride on your bike, baby?” she drawls.

Cruiser, who part owns the bar with Jett barks a laugh. “Ha! You’ll be lucky, darlin’.”

“Got more chance of hell freezing over before you get on the back ofthatthing,” the older member, Ray says.

“Known this guy for five years and not one chick has ever been on the back of his bike,” Myles says before tossing back a beer.

What?

He’s never had a woman ride with him?Ever?

“He’s got something else you can ride though, sweetheart,” Cruiser adds.

“That right, Kill?” she asks, her wide fuck me eyessparkling with hope.

“Not tonight, darlin’,” Killian replies.

My chest lightens with relief and I don’t recognise the jealousy that floods through me that it’s her on his lap and not me.

Why the hell am I jealous over a man I hated up until yesterday? A man I’m still not entirely sure I even like.

“How do you fancy my boy, Drew over there? Kid needs his cherry popping,” Killian continues.

Some of the guys razz the younger one, Drew who’s around my age and his face turns beet red, looking like he hopes the floor will open up and swallow him whole.

The blonde shakes her head. “Virgins aren’t for me. I need a man who knows what he’s doing to handle me.” Her eyes find Killian’s again. “Come find me if you change your mind.” And with that, she shifts off Killian’s lap and struts away through the bar, swinging her hips for effect.
