Once the car is secured by the chains and ropes, I go with him to the garage, and when we get there, Tyler and Vince are waiting for us.

“What a beauty!” Tyler exclaims as we climb out of the tow truck, his eyes wide and excited as he takes in the car.

Vince wolf whistles, the sound echoing through the garage. “Shit, dude! That’s one hell of a car!” Vince chimes in.

“She’s gonna look great with a lick of paint. Now Ty, it’s over to you, and I'm trusting you not to fuck it up,” Logan says with smile.

“Pfft! Have I ever let you down?” Tyler asks, cocking an eyebrow.

“Never. Thanks again, man. I owe you.” Logan and Tyler bump fists before pulling each other in for a bear hug.

A heavy arm drapes across my shoulders and I glance up to find Vince staring down at me. “I don’t know about you, sweets, but I’m feeling a little left out. You’re welcome to give me a hug anytime.”

“Hey! Hands off my girl, asshole!” Logan shouts and Vince jerks away from me quickly, his hands raised up in surrender while a wide grin stretches across his face, and he gives me a wink.

I can't stop the feeling of giddiness that overwhelms me at the sound of being called Logan's girl.

With Tyler’s arms around Logan’s shoulders, they head towards us. “The car’s in good hands, Amy. I’ll take good care of it for you,” Tyler assures me.

“Thanks, Tyler.”

The guys get the GTO off the back of the truck and roll it into the shop. We’re so close to the end that it’s a little overwhelming, everything that has happened has been because of this car. Without it, Logan and I would still be acquaintances, barely even friends. The car is what brought us together, and I’ll always cherish the time Logan and I spent fixing it up.

Chapter 26

Logan

After dropping Amy off at home, I pull into my driveway to find Donovan, leaning casually up against my front door, arms folded, and I have to swallow hard to keep the contents of my stomach, inmy stomach. I climb out of my truck and walk towards the house.

“Hello, Logan,” he says through a condescending smile and I come to a halt in front of him.

“Why are you here?”

“Why do you think? Time’s up. I want my money.”

“I’m working on it. Business has been slow lately and-”

He holds up a hand, cutting me off. “I don’t want your excuses Cooper. Iwantmy money.”

“And you’ll get it, I swear. I just need a little more time. Give me a week.”

“I told you what would happen if you were late for repayment.”

“I’m sorry. I swear, just one more week.”

He heaves a deep sigh, his eyes narrowing on me as he mulls it over. “A week, but only because I like you. Though my kindness only goes so far. I’ll give you an extra week, but in return, I want another five percent interest.”

“Five percent? Are you serious?”

“Take it or leave it. It’s the only offer you’re gonna get, unless you’ve changed your mind about joining me?”

“No, I’m afraid I haven’t.” I blow out a long breath. “Fine, five percent.”

“A week. Not a minute longer. And if I don’t get it, I’ll have to find other ways of making you pay up.”

“What’s that supposed to mean?”

He runs the tip of his tongue over his teeth, his lips curving upward. “That cute little blonde from earlier... she sure is a beauty. Let’s keep it that way, shall we?”
