“Rainbows or rainbow sprinkles?”
I laugh. “Both.”
Nodding, he finishes his glass of wine. “Anything else?”
My eyes light up when I remember one of my favorite things ever. “Oh, yes. Now, this is important.” He nods, waiting for me to continue. “I am a huge sucker for the moment in a movie or a book when the guy gets the girl, or vice versa. That blip when the conflict is done, and they can finally be together?” I clasp my hands over the center of my chest as I sigh. “It gets me every time.”
The corner of his mouth lifts in a slow, satisfied smile. “Movies, huh?”
“Yes. It just never gets old.”
“I’m glad you think so, because I have a movie in mind that we’re gonna watch together tonight.”

Rhonan cues up the television and finally steps out of the way so I can see what he chose.
I gasp. “Top Gun Maverick?”
“You said it was better than the first one, so I have high expectations.” He moves toward the couch to sit next to me, resting his arm along the back of it.
“I—I can’t believe you remembered that I said that.”
He lifts his hand to cup my jaw. “I told you, I remember everything about that night, Vienna.”
“Me too.”
Sexual energy races between us as I move to straddle him, but he stops me before I can get into position. “Vienna, don’t.”
Disappointment races through me as I take my seat again. “Oh, okay. I just…”
He presses a finger to my lips, silencing me. “Don’t think for a second that I don’t want you.” He takes my hand and places it on his cock, hard and ready in his slacks. I have to clench my thighs together to ward off the need building low in my belly. “But I want to make sure you understand that sex is not the only thing on my mind. Do I plan on fucking you later? You bet your ass. But right now?” He tilts his head to the side as his eyes move all over my face. “I just want to experience something normal with you.”
“Normal?”
“Yeah, you know… Watching a movie, cooking dinner together, cuddling on the couch.” He bites his bottom lip. “I haven’t had that in a long time.”
Is now when I tell him that I never had that because my husband was an asshole that flipped a switch on me the second we were married?
“That sounds perfect, Rhonan,” I reply instead, falling even deeper for this man as he wraps his arm around me, settles into the couch, and holds me while we watch a movie together that I think will be my favorite movie of all time now, for obvious reasons.

“Holy shit,” Rhonan breathes out as if he were just holding his breath. The movie just ended and when the final task for the pilots started, Rhonan was sitting on the edge of the couch, all cuddling forgotten.
One thing I’ve learned about Rhonan Hart tonight is that he’s a talker during movies, which is both endearing and also kind of annoying. At least I’ve already seen this movie, so it didn’t bother me as much as it could have. But moving forward? That’s something I’m going to have to talk to him about.
“That was intense.”
“Right? So good though,” I say as Rhonan finds the remote and stops the movie from playing during the credits. When he turns to me, he looks as if he’s still struggling to breathe. “Are you okay?”
“Yeah. My adrenaline is just flowing right now.”
I place my hand over his chest, finding his heart beating wildly. “You were invested.”
“I was.” He reaches out and frames my face with his hands. “But now I think I need to burn some of this adrenaline off.”
I glance up at the ceiling playfully. “Huh. I wonder how you could do that…”
