“Only an idiot would cheat on you, Zee.” Lev’s emerald green eyes are full of heat as his gaze skims over the tank top I wore under my leather jacket.

“No, babe. Only an idiot would come back for more after they’re cheated on. If I think that weekend I had been planning to lose my virginity to Cal.” I shudder again. “Even knowing that he couldn’t keep it in his pants until I was ready.”

Lev laces his fingers with mine. “What was your plan?”

“I had this romantic idea of how it would happen, you know? Together with my racing clothes, I had packed some sexy underwear I was planning to put on when we got to Cal’s hotel room. But he was still buzzing from the qualifying race and smarting from not getting the pole position, and he wanted to have a quickie in his trailer instead. He wouldn’t take no for an answer, and that’s when you guys found us.”

“What a fucking piece of shit.” He bites out. “Did he know that would be your first time? Not that it would matter after he tried to force you. The second someone says no, you fuckingstop. But if he knew it was your first time, he’s even more of an asshole for expecting a quick fuck in his trailer rather than planning something nice for you.”

I sigh. “He knew. He just didn’t care. The way he kept racing after what happened to Atlas sums up his personality. Cal doesn’t care about anyone but himself. He would sell his own brother if that meant a good payday. But let’s not waste another second talking about him. How is your shoulder?”

Lev smiles. “Much better, thank you.”

“Good. Let’s keep it iced, and maybe when you wake up, we should get you more painkillers.”

“Maybe. But it isn’t the treatment that made me feel better so quickly. I think it’s the nurse who has a magic touch.”

Yeah, when I was with Cal, I was a fool.

Lev, Chance and Ares are really the best of both worlds. Daring and athletic, hot as sin, but they treat me right.

“You look tired.” I say, running a hand through Lev’s dark hair. “We should get some sleep.”

I turn the light off, shed my leather pants and slide under the covers in just my tank top and underwear.

Even though Lev’s injured side isn’t next to me, I keep on my side of the bed. I want to give him space if he wants to spread out to be more comfortable, like Chance said earlier.

The bed is comfortable, and the luxurious fabric of the bedding feels like a warm cloud around me, and yet sleep eludes me.

I’m still buzzing from the eventful night at the race, and I’m tired but wired.

“Zee?” Lev’s voice is low and soft. “Are you awake?”

“Mhmm.” I answer. “Sorry, did I wake you up? I’m trying to stay as still as possible, but I don’t seem to be able to sleep.”

He turns the light on the lowest setting, casting a soft glow over the opulent room. “I know why I can’t sleep. I think we would both sleep better if you came closer.”

“I just want to make sure you’re comfortable and you can easily shift positions if your shoulder bothers you.”

“My injured shoulder is on the other side of you. I’ll be more comfortable with you snuggled by my side.”

I don’t make him ask twice, and I scoot closer to him.

“Hmm, this is much better.” He dips his head to kiss me, pulling me to his side.

The kiss starts soft and shallow, but when Lev’s tongue slips into my mouth, things spiral out of control pretty fast.

His hands wander under the thin fabric of my tank, cupping my breasts.

I lean into his touch, driven by pure need, my back arched to get more of his rough hands against my skin.

“Zee.” Lev moans as his hands leave my breasts and feel their way down my waist and hips.

He grabs me by my hips, pulling me on top of him, my thighs straddling his waist.

It’s my turn to lower my head to kiss him, and it’s like putting kindling to a fire.

My hands go on an exploration trip of their own, tracing the hard, defined muscles under Lev’s soft skin.
