I’m experiencing this as a wolf, and the mortification is almost worse than the pleasure.
Almost.
When it finally fades, I’m panting in the grass, ears flat against my head, and if anyone saw that I’m never coming out of the woods again.
Chapter 17
Thane
I’m standing just outside the kitchen door with Auren, discussing the wards around his estate, when I hear it.
“Oh fuck.”
Theo’s voice, followed immediately by crashes, a clatter of metal, Rhett’s sharp exhale.
I turn toward the door. “What—”
Then it hits me.
The bond flares so bright I can’t think, can’t breathe, can’t do anything except feel her. Pleasure crashes through me—hers, overwhelming and perfect—feeding through it, amplifying it until the sensation overloads. She’s with Wes and Stellan. Both of them. And she just sent all of it to the rest of us.
My knees almost buckle. I brace one hand against the wall, teeth gritted, trying to maintain some shred of control as the sensation builds and builds and—
I lose it.
The release tears through me, unwanted and inevitable, and I feel the wet heat spreading across the front of my pants.
No.
The bond settles slowly, humming contentedly, and I’m left standing in the hallway with Auren, trying to catch my breath and pretend I have any dignity left.
I don’t look at him.
“Well,” Auren says, and I can hear the smile in his voice.
“Don’t.”
“Did your Source just—” He breaks off, and when I finally glance at him, he’s staring at the wet spot on my pants with barely restrained glee.
“Don’t say it.”
“With two Incubi—” He’s shaking now, trying not to laugh.
“Auren—”
The laughter bursts out—loud, delighted, uncontrollable. He’s actually wheezing, one hand pressed to his stomach, tears forming at the corners of his eyes.
“I’m going to kill you,” I say flatly.
“She just—” He can barely get the words out. “—broadcasted that to all of you—” More wheezing. “—and you—” He gestures helplessly at my pants.
“I hate you.”
“No you don’t.” He’s grinning so wide it has to hurt. “Oh my god, Thane. Your face. This is the best thing that’s happened all year.”
He takes a breath, trying to compose himself, but another laugh escapes. “You know this was because she was starving, right? Fed from two Incubi at once after being drained in the Void for god knows how long—the feedback loop had nowhere else to go. It’s not going to happen every time she—”
“I’m leaving,” I say flatly.
