"Well, that is where they were hiding," Janae muttered.

They had their blasters aimed at them.

She couldn’t see their faces very well, only that both had dark red-brown hands, and they brought their weapons up, blasters at the ready.

Janae inhaled a breath.

Blaster fire darted past her again.

This time, it was Stron, shooting them both down.

Janae dropped down, and Adryel followed.

The two Kantenans engaged with Stron, and they fought hard. Stron's armor, wrapped around him like a latticework, seemed almost undulating as he moved.

But where was Khalzin?

She turned and saw him, in the middle of fighting with another Kantenan, this one was armed with a bladed weapon as well, and the two were going after each other.

Another form was down on the ground. She assumed another attacker.

How many did they have coming after her?

There were only two of them. They sent four attackers, at least?

Seemed like overkill.

The one Stron fought with flipped in the air and almost landed on Janae, but she rolled away just in time.

The other went after Adryel.

"Adryel, no!" Janae cried out, and she ran toward the attacker.

He swung around, holding Adryel by her hair, and aimed a blaster at Janae. "Stop!"

Janae didn't.

She struck him and tackled him to the ground. Likely, it was because he was caught off balance.

Or Adryel tripped him as all three of them went down in a tumble. She rolled out of his grip, and Janae was about to scramble off him as well when he grabbed her shoulder and shoved the blaster in her neck. The metal tip from the weapon burnt her skin.

She screamed.

Everything stopped.

It was like the world froze in a blink.

For it all was happening all at once.

Blaster fire came from somewhere.

The shine of a weapon flew toward her and her captor.

She started to move, to duck.

The blaster bolt hit the Kantenan.

And so did a rock.
