Gianna adjusted the straps of her backpack around her, and prayed the water stayed out of the pack as she waded back toward the ring, but the tide was pushing her around.
"We don't have time!"Tina cried out."Swim!"
The water was too deep.
They were right behind them crying out that they were going to drown.
Well, that was no surprise.
She and Tina reached the arc and Gianna glanced at Tina and put her hand on it.
"Come on," she said.
Gianna got the shock, and she went through.
Blinding white light and then she landed with a thud.
Wet and a mess.
And yanked off the ground by Marcin.
"Where's Tina?"Kolvin yelled.
"She's still in there.I thought she was right behind me.The tunnel is filling with water, she's gonna--"
Kolvin slapped a control and the portal opened.
Marcin grabbed him from the backside and held on as Kolvin reached through.Water flooded the area, and Gianna jumped backwards.
Marcin pulled Kolvin back, and when Kolvin came back through, he had Tina.
And more seawater.
And everyone sighed in relief.
Gianna rubbed her head."No more damn portals.I'm done."
"No more portals."
“That’s okay.You’re with me now, and that’s all that matters,” Marcin said.
