The scientists came over to the table.They spoke to each other their words jumbling together into a buzzing noise in his mind as they started moving around him and adjusting different things.They began to take his blood.It fascinated him to watch the vials fill with his fluid.
He figured it would all come back.The nanites would fix it.
He started laughing.
"What is so funny?"Zapier asked, one of the scientists.
Maybe he was the head one.
Marcin didn't care.He was a scientist.The one who administered the tests.He was always around.
"You're taking my blood."
"We are removing your nanites."
Marcin laughed again.
"Why is that so funny?"
"They don't like you," Marcin said.
"Well, I don't like you."
"So let me go home.We shouldn't be together if we don't like each other."
"That is not how this works," Zapier said.
Which made little sense.It seemed the perfect solution to Marcin.If they did not like Marcin, Solkan and Kolvin, they should be allowed to leave and return to their people instead of hurting them all the time.
"It should.It is logical."
"Logical is learning everything we can about your species so that we can find the best way to eliminate you."
Marcin shook his head."We have done nothing to the Terran Empire.We occupy one solar system in this sector.The Terran Empire should have no quarrel with us."
"You killed our Empress."
"Not personally," Marcin said.
"Your people did.Our beloved Empress was killed on a mission of peace to your world.She would be alive today if she not stepped foot onto your world."
"So that gives the Terran Empire the right to destroy us?"
