"I suppose that would be necessary, to properly understand one another."

"I would think so."They reached the lift, and it opened so they could step inside.

He set the program for three levels up, and the lift started to hum and take them to their destination.

"So, what do you do?"

"Currently, I am riding in a lift."

She shook her head."No, I mean--"

"I know what you meant.I teased."

She smiled."Oh, I see how you are."

The lift glided to a stop and the door opened. They stepped out onto the walkway of what looked like a completely different ship than what they'd been on before.

Perhaps it was the retrofitting of the station?

She paused and stared at everything and took in a deep breath."Holy cow, this is where the food is."

He detected the different scents as well, recognizing different humanoid cuisine offerings. He had never tried many.

As she walked, she would lean into a vendor's area and inhale the smells. It was as though she was being led by her nose.

Her nose and a big grin on her face.

“Do you love cuisine?”Marcin asked as she stopped at every stand to smell and look at the food.

She grinned.“I do.On my homeworld, I had to be very careful what I ate.”

“What are your dietary needs?”he asked. And felt foolish for not asking her before now.

She waved her hand.“My dietary needs were actually fixed by the doctor, or so he said, when we checked in.Evidently, you all have a vaccine for the condition, and it should be fixed now.”

“That is good to know.We should be careful what you eat, though.”

“I agree.I’ll know immediately if I have something that will not work for me.”

“The body response is that fast?”

She nodded.“It is amazing how that biology can work.”

He nodded, because he agreed.

They walked a little more, looking at everything. She seemed to admire everything from the structure to the way the stores and booths were set up, even to the traffic flow.

"It's interesting how different this is than the level below where our home is.This seems older, more used.Down below looks new."

"It most likely is," Marcin said."The station is a collection of ships that have been hooked together to make a singular station. There are hundreds of ships or parts of ships that have been brought here and connected in this complex."

"It feels like different worlds."

"So many systems have their own way of making space vessels, it does feel like all sorts of different worlds."

They reached the stand that Vinka had recommended, and he went up and ordered two stuffed Punos and drinks. They carried them over to a small sitting area nearby to eat.

It seemed small to him, anyway, he barely fit in the chairs.
