"You are fixing my diabetes?"Gianna asked the doctor, Duke, pressed a few buttons on the hypo-sprayer, medicine injector doodad that he had.
The part of her that was still skeptical about all this thought it was kinda funny that the thing looked like something out of television. But maybe that just meant that sci-fi designers were on the right track of technology?
Hmm, a question for another time.
"Is that what you call it?"Duke asked."We just call it cellular degradation. It is a very common disorder among humanoids that several worlds created vaccines for it, and now a universal version is used all over the galaxy as a preventative. Most get it when they are children."
Gianna shook her head."Please, hit me with your little medicine gun.I want it.If I don't have to take those regular meds that cost me a damn car payment every month, I'm all about it."
Tina patted Gianna's arm."Boy, when we wake up from this dream, I can't wait to tell you about it, because this is crazy."
Gianna nodded. This was too easy.It was too perfect.
"I'd say I told you so…"
Tina giggled."Yes, yes you did."
Gianna grinned.
They came to and were brought into this medical bay that looked like something out of aStar Trekepisode.the doctor, Duke, was humanoid looking for the most part, except for the dots on his forehead.Gianna had seen enoughStar Trekto know that they must be species markings.
So, like someone with a wart, she stared as little as possible. This was just crazy. The whole thing.
And she was loving every minute of it.They were in a dream or coma or something. They'd drowned in the cave, and this was their coma-induced crazy dream state.Or worse, they were dead, and this was some kind of weird twist on Heaven.
Her heaven.
Maybe not Tina's, but still. If Gianna was the one having this hallucination, then she might as well enjoy the benefits of it.
The pink version ofWonder Womancame in, when she was in the 1984 era, with the bonus of antenna on her head. And she had that same smile asWonder Womandid."It is no dream, ladies. This is very much real. You have joined us here. You both were scanned and approved for the Intergalactic Dating Agency, and it brought you here to meet your mates."
"I'm down for it!"Gianna said.
Boys on Earth sucked. They were always broke and 'between jobs' and looking for that female to take care of them.Gianna was a strong, independent woman.
She didn't need a boy to raise.
She was looking for a man to take care of her.
When she needed it.
"Gianna, we don't even know what this is or what it's all about. You can't just agree to do it."Tina grabbed her arm, right where she'd been given her inoculations. And it didn't even hurt.
"Yes, I can.I write about alien romance all the time. And if they can fix my diabetes too? This is a dream for me.And I'm all about it."Was it logical?Of course not, but she was going to enjoy what it was all about. Her writer brain started breaking it down, and surely this kind of service cost a great deal of money, however they had that here.
So surely, they're like princes from their race or some such thing. She bet they never had to struggle and wonder where their next meal would come from.
"It could be slavery or something, you don't know."
"Ladies, this is not slavery! As a representative of the Intergalactic Dating Agency, I am a touch surprised and offended that you would think such a thing."
"Can you blame us?On our world, this would be considered an alien abduction."
Re-lee seemed to consider that."Where, exactly is your world? You're Terran, correct?"She looked back at her tablet.
"Earth," Tina said."Terra is another name."
