"It's like I'm out there," she said, her gaze darting around. This station angle bowed out from the rest, making it more open and allowing her to see much more of the sky and the stars.

She put her hands on the windows and stared, her eyes wide like a child's, lost in the visual. "This is incredible."

He put his hand on her shoulder. "I am pleased I could show this to you."

She touched his hand. "Thank you. This is the most incredible thing I've ever seen."

He stepped a little closer to her. "Now those stars there? That's the beginning of the Terran Empire. If you look over here, you can see, very faintly, that slight discolor in the stars?"

"Yes, I can see it. It's kind of, I don't know, wobbly or something."

"That is the Warp Tunnels. They run all through the galaxy, allowing for Faster Than Light travel within the structures."

"Can ships not fly faster than light?"

"It requires a special kind of calculations and equipment that can be difficult to acquire. Most choose to use the warp tunnels. It is more secure and predictable."

She nodded. "Do they cost to be used?"

"You seem very interested in the cost of existence here,"

"Where I’m from, money is everything. I want to understand how important it is here."

"It is important, a tool to barter with and get what you need. But it is not all that there is."

"It is utopia, then?"

He shook his head. "No. It is not a perfect society."
