"What was that?" Gianna asked.
Marcin shrugged. "I have no idea. The two of them have been fighting since we left."
"Left where?" Tina asked.
"Left to come here," Kolvin said.
"She's in a uniform. Is she some kind of policing agent?"
"Military. Terran Empire military."
Tina and Gianna glanced at each other. "Terran Empire? The Terrans have an empire?" Where in the hell were they? And was Earth a part of this? Did they want to be?
So many questions flew through her mind. What kind of dimension was this? If that's even what this was--a different dimension. Were they in the mirror universe? God, she hoped not. She didn't want to meet her evil twin.
"With an Emperor who has a desire to fight everyone," Kolvin said, with a bit of bite in his tone.
Tina blinked. Well, there was a lot to unpack in that. Or the way he said it, anyway.
He opened the door to the suite. "Come in. You will want to see the place."
She nodded and noticed that his posture had shifted.
He obviously was not a big fan of the Terrans.
Wait.
Was she Terran? Would she be considered Terran?
Or were they different?
Blue-skinned or something?
She hoped blue-skinned. Though the woman with the other Rhimodian, Solkan, was not blue-skinned.
Crap.
She did not want to see that fury she'd witnessed when he jumped to hold back his friend released against her.
"Come," he said, gesturing inside the residence.
She followed him inside. The apartment on the left side of the three doors also seemed to lean to the left. The walls curved in that direction, opening to a sitting room and kitchen. At least that's what she thought all those shelves and things were for. Past that, there were a couple more doors. She guessed one was the bedroom, the other the bath. As far as decoration, it was a little disappointing, it was the same white and silver.
Kolvin stepped into the middle of the room and held his arms out.
"This is the place," he said. "I hope it meets your needs."
She nodded. "It is fine, thanks. Does it meet your needs as well?"
"I need very little."
"I get that," she said as she walked around a bit, exploring some. Opening drawers and seeing what was around.
She wasn't ready to go look in the bedroom. That was another conversation.
"So," she said, taking a seat on the couch. "What do you think about this?"
"About you?"
