And was Tina just adapting to the dark, or did the lettering start glowing more?
"This is just bizarre," Gianna said.
"I know," Tina replied. "Come on, let's see. There must be a maker's mark or something on it. I mean, we're on the west coast. This has to be from a movie or something that a production team left behind."
"There hasn't been anyone doing any movies out here in forever," Gianna said.
"That's way more logical than it just appearing, attached to the stone. There has to be something--" She started to touch the writing.
Jerked her hand back.
"Did it shock you?" Gianna asked.
Tina nodded. "It wasn't bad, but yeah."
Gianna did the same thing. "Ouch! Wasn't bad? That stung!"
"Come on, let's look at the back of this thing. Find the power cord," Tina said, her mind running in a million different directions. "Before it electrocutes us."
She and Gianna stepped into the ring.
Bright, blinding white light hit them.
It felt like Tina's insides were being ripped apart, molecule by molecule.
This is way worse than electrocution.
Then, in a blink, it was over.
And they both landed on a hard, metal surface.
"What in the hell was that?" Gianna asked.
Tina shook her head. Rubbed her eyes.
"Did the tide come in?" she asked.
Shouldn't she be covered in water from the tide? Did she just drown?
She turned.
"Oh, so sorry, are you girls all right?" came a female voice.
Tina looked up. The woman smiled at her.
"Come, let me help you both."
The woman looked like Wonder Woman.
If Wonder Woman had two antennae sticking out of her head and pink skin.
Tina blinked. "What in the--"
"Are you an alien?" Gianna asked.
The woman blinked. "To you girls, I probably seem so." She smiled. "Welcome, ladies."
"Where are we?"
"At the Intergalactic Dating Agency, of course."
