She sighed."I suppose a little bit of a nap wouldn't hurt me."
"I will stand sentry and keep you safe."
"Are you expecting trouble to find us here?"
"I would not be surprised if it did."
"You said this was a safe house."
"It is.But there were a great many Terran ships up there.I am sure we are not the only ones who paid attention to ship flight patterns."
"You're probably right."
She unhooked the white dress she wore to reveal a simpler dress underneath. She laid down on the boxes and spread the white outer layer over herself like a blanket.
"Bahran."
"Yes?"
"I am sorry. You are right.I do not feel well."
"Would you like some nanites?"he asked.
"I think I would."She held out her arm to accept. He touched her arm.The tube's pointed tip pierced her skin, injecting her with a solution of nanites.
Her eyelids were heavy, and she barely opened them."I think I'm going to nap now."
"Rest. When you wake, I should have more status updates."
"Wake me if anything important happens."
"I will."
While Bahran kepta close eye on the room he'd had the princess rest in, he did not sit around and sleep himself. He went through the nearby rooms looking for any leftover supplies.
The space, while he'd been there to clean and use the facility to store equipment, he'd never actually worked there.Like he told her, it was old used for the initial settling and terraforming of the system.
While he did, he tried to connect with the network and hear the fellow Rhimodians. With the eclipse, he had very little luck connecting directly. He was able to get some text base missives out to the general populace.Messages about the number of vessels in the star system that had made it behind the shields.Still, he wasn't sure if they got to the Rhimodians at the capital.
Master System had given him one last command when he'd been instructed on where to take the princess for safety. He must keep her away from the fighting and keep her protected.
At least until the eclipse is over and he can receive new protocols.
So he fortified their location, checking entrance and exit points to make sure that everything was secure.
He also grabbed her supply bag and inventoried what was inside. It wasn't anything particularly out of the ordinary.
He had moved his fighter inside as well.He was checking it in the hanger, making sure that everything was operating at peak efficiency. He had felt a slight lag when he'd been flying, some lack of response time that did not seem correct, so he decided to do some maintenance while she slept.
Probably the only good thing about being Tarnished, he did more cleaning and labor work. What others would consider medial tasks, he found almost enjoyable. To go into a resting cycle knowing he had finished a job or repaired something pleased him.
Going over the different internal systems in the fighter gave him a sense of purpose that he appreciated.
The nanites and the lysteel did a great deal of the work, but he still needed to use his hands for some things.
"Hey there," Princess Caoimhe said.
He turned to see her, and already the rest had helped her.Her complexion was better, and her eyes looked less strained.Though he imagined not having someone firing upon oneself helped with that."Did you sleep?"
