“Everywhere,” he replied.

Her face turned as red as her Terran cloak, and she pulled away from him.

He paused. “Have I upset you?”

She shook her head but would not look at him.

“Lady Bianca,” he said and put his hand on her chin.

Her cheeks were still pink, but when she turned back, she was not embarrassed. But she certainly was laughing.

“Am I amusing?”

She nodded. “You are, though I am sure you did not mean to be.”

“Maybe I did,” he said, though he was bluffing. He did not know what she was referring to, but he was willing to continue the game for a few moments longer.

“It is time for the Terran to leave,” came Reedek’s voice.

Bianca sighed and pushed away from him. “Thank you for your assistance today, Harbin.”

“It was pleasing to help you today.”

She smiled again at him and brushed a hair out of her face. “I hope to see you more during the negotiations.”

“I will be available as you need.”

“Just ask for you?”

“Or look over your shoulder. I shall be your escort,” he said.

“Is that a promise?”

“A mission.”

“I am a mission,” she said as she rubbed her chin. “Hmm, how interesting.”

“I am serious,” he said and held up his arm. He tapped his gauntlet on his forearm, and the nanite technology produced a comm transmitter.

He handed her the small device.

To him, it was small and inconspicuous. For her, it was the length of her palm.

“What is this?”
