Her skills or his desire, he knew not. It only took Wrathin a few moments to reach completion, and she took every drop of him, swallowing it all like she’d been given the most exquisite drink.

Wrathin was slow to move at first.

Veta stood and smiled at him. “Feel good?”

“How do you have this power,” Wrathin said. “What are you?”

She smiled. “I’m the Temptress, of course.”

He redressed as she put her hands on her hips and glanced around the cave.

Her posture shifted, as did her expression.

The smile faded away.

Unfortunately, so did his enjoyment as well, focusing on the carnage around them.

She gestured to the bodies. “They’ll be back to find us. And they’ll bring more. This makes two squads that have shown up so far. Terrans never do anything in less than three squads.”

He glanced at the four soldiers lay in varying pieces on the ground in the cave. He grabbed one and started to pull the body away from the entrance.

They worked in silence, hiding the evidence, and claiming any gear Veta thought they’d need.

Wrathin’s mind raced. He stored the concept that they likely will have more Terrans if this was only two of probably three squads, then there were more out there, doing what, he could not imagine.

That, he knew how to handle.

Veta, however.

She was an anomaly. In only a short while, they had two deeply intimate acts. The contact seemed to profoundly affect him almost immediately. Touching her in the pool had been enough to engage his Craving, but in a way he’d not expected.

Now he could not focus on anything.

All he could see, in his mind’s eye, was her. While unintended, the images of her on her knees before him came to mind. Looking at him like she knew the secrets of the universe. His member hardened, just thinking of it.

Had she implanted him with a virus? Something to eat away at his programming? Was this a new weapon to use against the Rhimodians?

Was everything a ruse to test this new weapon to destroy them?

He glanced back at Veta.

He could not believe that was what had happened. There had to be another reason. An excuse for why he would be so taken with her.

It could be his reaction, only. While sexual contact was not unfamiliar to him, he had not been one to engage in it often. Opportunities were rare. Perhaps he was tarnished in that department. It had been some time.

She had her back to him while she worked at picking up things in the cave.

Unfortunately, they were going to have to move on because this location was no longer safe.

He agreed with her intel—he’d seen similar patterns with the Terrans. They always worked in groups of three. Another group of Terrans likely knew this location and would be descending.

“Why do your people want to kill you,” he asked. The problem of the moment.

She shrugged. “Your guess is as good as mine.” She panted as she spoke. The soldiers' bloodstains on her clothing kept drawing his attention. He knew she was stable, yet his protective instincts amplified, and he pushed down the urge to check her over.

Must maintain rational. “Will they continue to come,” he asked as he picked up the bags from her ship.

“Probably. We’re a stubborn bunch.” She grabbed one of the bags herself.
