Happy. And how charming she looked.

A lady for certain. Freya’s posture was straight and her shoulders back. Her breasts were round and well-shaped under her dress—very appealing. While she had not put the outer red robes on, the dress she wore was very attractive on her little frame.

And tiny. He had not realized, or perhaps he had not paid attention to, her small frame until they were here. She came to his chin until after she changed her hair, then she barely came to his shoulder. He had not realized so much of her height was the coif piled upon her head.

Small and delicate with a smooth, graceful bone structure, she truly was a beautiful woman. Her eyes were inquisitive, and her skin was much paler than his naturally dark skin. His natural skin, though, was hardly ever seen. At the moment, it blended to the immediate background, so silvers, grays, and blues.

Intelligent, and she adapted to their programming systems very easily. It made her vital in fortifying the station.

He had no idea Terran Empire women were so intriguing.

Or perhaps it was just her.

“I have met Terran women before on Disguised Serenity. Have you ever been there?”

“I have not traveled there, personally, but I know what it is. A space station in between sectors, near several hyperspace gates.”

“It is an excellent trading post.”

“It is a junk yard, according to what I have heard.”

“It is easy to think that, with the way much of the station is put together.” The station itself was a collection of other spaceships connected to make a kind of maze of one large ship structure. The station always had some parts under construction as new ships and pieces were added.

"I would need tracking maps to get through the place."

"It is easy to get lost in there."

"Do you speak from experience?"

Kian shook his head. "My programming keeps me centered on my location."

She uncrossed and re-crossed her legs, her posture relaxing a bit. "So tell me something."

"What do you wish to know?"

"What is the difference between you, a cyborg, and, say, an organic humanoid with cybernetic parts?"

"You mean like someone who has had his arm or leg replaced?"

"Yes. There are plenty of humanoids with mechanical parts, whether for enhancement or fixing broken things. What is the difference between you and them?"

He crossed his arms.

She sat up straighter. "I'm sorry. If I offended you, I did not mean to. I only wished to understa--"

"You have not offended me. Why do you assume so?"

"Your posture shifted. I thought you were frustrated with me."

So, she did pay attention to his movements as much as he watched hers. Surprising, but informative. "I was not frustrated. Just shifting my body. I do not typically sit."

"Oh. If it is not comfortable for you, do not feel obligated to sit with me."

This did make him smile. "I appreciate your compassion for my comfort. However, I am to see to your comfort."

"And you have done well so far," she replied.

He raised his eyebrow. He considered asking if her reply was genuine or more of that Terran sarcasm. She didn't meet his gaze, so he wondered if she did not mean to sound displeased.
