“A water la—”
He killed the channel again.
Probably not the most diplomatic option, but his goal was to keep her safe, not to be nice about it.
Trust yourself,Master System said.
“I do,” he muttered. And he sighed as he turned on the comms channel between him and the Ambassador.
“—cut me off again. I really can’t believe this, and now I just have to—”
“Please be silent while I land our ships.”
"Quit cutting me off," she snapped.
He shifted as best he could into a landing mode. He could do very little, as the shielding underneath was damaged, and his ship was not responding correctly.
He rolled his ship, so his side hit the atmosphere first. And the Ambassador was above him, protected by the entirety of his fighter.
She screamed, but it was quickly squashed as they hit atmo.
A land mass loomed in the distance, one of the larger ones, and he aimed for that. His systems reported there was a base somewhere in the vicinity. Base meant a ship. If they could get there before the eclipse, they would be able to head back to Sol-3 with the others. If not, they would be stranded here, on Sol-5, for up to three days because they won’t be able to communicate. The eclipse blocked any communication.
The last thing he wanted was to be stuck on this moon with some female Ambassador.
The fighter’s engines attempted to shift back to atmosphere mode, but they failed.
Kian tried to compensate with the controls. Even with the interface, it wasn't connecting like it should.
He fought the controls as he aimed his landing for the island. They were moving too fast. They sailed right over the top of it.
Landed hard in the water.
Immediately, both ships started sinking.

The wings, or whatever they were, wrapped around the escape pod, suspending her inside with small holes that allowed her to see out.
The pilot attempted to bring them in for a landing. From her angle, all she could see was water and wondered where the dry ground was.
Pressure in the pod shifted and adjusted, and her ears popped as they descended. Everything around her got louder. She covered her ears to help herself assimilate to the roar of the landing.
Everything around her shook and rattled, and it seemed like she could smell the water. It was probably her imagination.
Trust.
You have to trust him.
Part of her really wanted to put her hands on her hips like a defiant child and scream, "I don't wanna!" but what choice did she have? Whispering prayers, she hoped the others were all right. Had any of her party been shot at like she had?
It was easier to believe that the Terran ship shooting at her had been mistaken rather than them outright attacking her.
Maybe the Rhimodian had been coming up behind her, and that was why? They shot at the Rhimodian, but their targeting was off.
The ship groaned as they got closer and shook as they came in for a landing.
Surely the ship was buoyant. Or at least her pod. It was a life pod, right? It should be well sealed. She should be just fine in here until the Terrans found her and took her home.
