“How far along are you?” Autumn asked.
Summer smiled. “About four months.”
Autumn blinked. “Oh my god. The panini maker?”
I burst out laughing.
Summer put her head down.
Shaun glanced at me. “Panini maker?”
“I’ll explain it to you later.”
“Will I like it?”
I grinned. “Yeah. We’ll like it.”
“Then I’m game,” he said and winked at me.
We were slowly getting there.
I didn’t want to move too fast emotionally.
Sexually?
You can’t stop that train.
But emotionally? I was still hesitant to admit I was committing my whole heart to Shaun.
But that was all me.
Not anyone else.
And he was rolling with it. Our plane was taking off.
Slowly.
Epilogue
A month later
“Well, that confirms it,” I said, and glanced at Shaun. “The kids are coming home for Spring Break. And they’re ready to meet you.”
I tucked the phone back into my pocket.
“That’s good, I guess,” Shaun said.
“They’ll like you, I’m sure,” I said as I picked up another box.
Shaun’s house had sold, and originally, I had offered to let him stay with me temporarily, but the more he lived with me, the more I liked having another person there.
“Brittany is excited to meet my boyfriend.”
He smiled. “Well, I’m looking forward to meeting her. My kids like you,” he said.
I nodded. Which I hadn’t expected. We’d gone to Texas to meet his kids, and surprisingly, they all thought I was pretty cool. They approved of me, which I think meant more to Shaun than it did me.
Okay, so it meant something to me.
