It only took another couple of thrusts before he came as well.
They both half-laid across the bed spent and panting.
He waited a few minutes, before heading to the bathroom to take care of his condom.
When he came back, Winter had turned down the bedspread, but as soon as he came out, she went in.
He decided to go grab their clothing from the living room, in this weird place, not sure what to think about anything.
He came back in and sat everything on the chair just as Winter came back out.
"So, uh, do you prefer a particular side?" she asked.
"The right," he said.
Is that what this is now? Casual and friendly again?
She picked up her panties and the little tank top thing she'd had on and put them on before climbing into the bed. He slipped his boxers back on.
"Well, this is the kind of adrenalin rush I prefer," Winter said as they got settled.
"As opposed to what?"
"Well, I would have been driving in that snow, and it would have been an adrenalin rush, but not the good kind. The kind that raised my blood pressure in bad ways."
He turned and looked at her.
She was on her side, looking at him.
"Is this the first time you've had a woman here since…" Her words trailed off, and her gaze went down.
He nodded. "If you're not comfortable--"
She shook her head. "I'm fine. Are you?"
He thought about it for a second. "I am, I think. You are so very different than she was."
"I imagine," she said.
"Why?"
She gestured to the house. "This house is so very different, style-wise, from me. She and I obviously are on opposite ends of the decorating spectrum. This place is a homey farmhouse. I'm minimalist modern."
He smirked. "And I'm a practical peter. If it works, I don't care what it looks like."
"I am too," Winter said, and she scooted a little closer to him. Put her hand on his chest. "If it works, then…"
"Hey now," he said and caught her wrist. "What are you saying?"
"I'm saying that I don't care what athinglooks like, if it works, then it works."
He pulled her in.
She threw a leg over him.
"Maybe we have to test that more," he said.
"Well, if it makes you feel better, I guess I'm up for that."
