I came around the desk and put my hand on her arm. "Do you need a lawyer?"
Autumn finally looked at me. "What? Why would I need a lawyer?"
I shrugged.
But I had a reason.
She'd had some legal trouble back in her last place of residence, Chicago. Her ex had put her in the hospital, and his bullshit got her in trouble as well with the police.
Fortunately, it was all being worked out.
But still, I couldn't help my old habits of worrying about Autumn. She was the baby, after all.
She waved her hand. "I may not. But you might," she said as she gestured to the computer screen.
"What are you talking about?"
"This happened overnight," she said.
"What did?"
"These scathing online reviews for the salon," Autumn said. "There's like two dozen of them."
I blinked. "Excuse me?"
I leaned in closer and started reading. Reviews claiming they got horrible haircuts, that the staff was rude. Quite a few called the manager a bitch and wouldn't make sure the customer was happy. Some, very specific about hair services and nail services.
In that first second, I freaked.
But only for a second.
"You said this all came in last night? Are you sure?"
Autumn nodded. "I check the reviews every morning. Habit from when I was on the cruise ship. I checked that stuff daily there as well, just in case any problems had been reported that I didn't take care of."
I picked up my coffee cup. "I didn't know you did that."
"I do," Autumn said. "This is too weird, though."
"What?"
"They all came in last night. So this has to be some kind of prank. Maybe a viral challenge for kids or something?"
"Possibly. Is there any way to get them down?"
"I can on some sites, but not all, I don't think. I'll have to do some digging."
I nodded. "Get to it. Maybe better check all the social media sites too. Make sure there's double-log-in."
"Double authentication?"
"Whatever. That thing where you have to confirm it before you can log in."
Autumn nodded. "I'll lock all the social media stuff down. See what I can find out on the review sites and see if we can do something with that."
"Have you checked that?"
"Yeah. And they didn't miss Facebook and Twitter, either."
