“That’s the problem. You coddle her like she’s some type of invalid. She knows what she be saying and doing. Her mouth is disrespectful because you allow it.” I was fuming and fed up with everything.

“Jam, can you go in your room and play. Mommy will be in there in a few minutes. Put your headphones on and listen to some music.”

“Okay.” I watched Mila walk off and turned directly into a slap. Blaise was ready to fight, and I was ready to give her one.

“You can do a lot of things but playing with my child ain’t one. You want to come in here with your chest poked out for a situation I had no control over.”

“You brought him back into our lives because you couldn’t keep your hot ass legs closed. You think I don’t know you’re fucking him? Everything about you is different. Even the way you talk. You want to be ghetto, Blaise? Be careful what you’re asking for.”

“I’m not trying to be shit. I am who I am, but I know when to turn it on and off. You’re mad because you can control everything but that. If we’re being honest, you hold that contract over my head because you’re intimidated and jealous. The ghetto chick you sponsored and cleaned up turned out to be better than you on that screen. You don’t give a fuck who I sleep with because if you did, you would stay your ass at home. You sleptwith my sister. My blood. How dare you stand here and judge me on anything.”

“They weren’t sleeping mommy; TT was only massaging him.” My eyes damn near fell out of my head when I heard Mila exposing me.”

“That’s what I meant sweetheart. Come on, let me help you put on your headphones.” Blaise walked out to go help her, so I knew what that meant. She was about to go ballistic from the news she just heard. Seeing that was my cue, I walked out the door swiftly and drove off. I had a segment to do anyway.

Blaise was right about one thing though; I regretted building her up. Her being a female talking sports like that was gold. The fans ate it up and her rankings were always through the roof. The only reason the network kept me on was because of her. The public saw us as a power couple. It’s why I would never let her out of her contract. I needed her more than she realized. Besides, I made that bitch who she was, so she owed me.

Pulling into the garage, I got out and walked inside. Everyone was walking up to me showing their concerns because they believed the narrative I had released about Mercer. I knew Blaise would never clear it up, so they thought she was a victim. After thanking everyone, I stopped at the table to grab me a coffee.

“Garrett, your segment starts in five minutes. We need to get you mic’d up, so you can cut right in.” Nodding at Jerry, I allowed them to apply some quick make up and my mic.

“Boss man, what do you need me to do?” I had about two minutes, so I pulled Brayden into an empty office next to set and closed the door.

“I need you to find someone to follow Blaise. If I can make it look like she’s the one cheating, then I can get out of this shit. I’m tired of playing house to that ghetto ass bitch, and I refuse to let her get one up on me. I’ve been playing daddy to that slowass kid of hers who thinks two plus two is red. Imagine someone of my caliber claiming to be a father of a retarded kid. If I had known that, I would have never agreed to the shit. Make sure whoever you find is discreet and have no problems signing an NDA.”

“You got it boss man.” Opening the door, I rushed to the set since I only had about thirty seconds to spare. Everyone was looking at me with shocked looks on their faces. I was about to walk onto the set when one of the producers tapped his chest and mouthed something to me.

“Your mic is hot.” My body ran cold immediately.

“I’m sorry about that, we are going to take a quick break and we will be back to you with Jerry.” Fuckkkkkk!!! Hearing him say that made me realize my comments weren’t just heard around the studio, they were heard around the world.

“Chris wants to see you in his office.” Brayden looked horrified and I could kill his ass. He was the one that asked me what I needed, so it was his fault that I said all that shit.

“You’re fired.” He looked shocked, but it was either that or beat his ass. Going into Chris’ office, I was shook, and continued to say silent prayers.

“Garrett-…”

“I know, Chris. I’m sorry about that. I didn’t realize my mic was hot. I’m going through a lot right now.” He nodded as if he understood.

“I get that. My wife is a bitch, but you will never hear me saying that on live television, but that’s not the problem. If you were just spitting out insults about your old lady, that could be fixed. You called your autistic daughter retarded. Someone of your caliber should know that’s not okay.” He threw my words back at me and I sunk into my chair.

“I was just speaking out of anger.”

“Something like that shouldn’t even be in your thoughts. That is a kid. Your kid. Not to mention that R word should never be used. I have to talk this over with the rest of the board, but as of now, you’re suspended until we can figure out our next move.” Jumping up, I left out pissed. This day couldn’t get any worse.

25-BLAISE MONROE

After getting a million calls and text messages about Garrett’s comments, I turned on the television and it was playing on every station. Any news station you could think of was covering it. I was so pissed; I couldn’t stop the tears from falling. There was no way I was married to someone that felt that way. I didn’t care how he felt about me, but the way he felt about Mila was sickening.

The sad part is, he’s not the only one who feels that way. When you have a child with a condition, you get used to strangers staring at them in disgust when they are having a meltdown because they are overstimulated. Or someone is always telling you they know what they are doing because they are so smart.

It's constant judgement, but hardly any support. The last thing you expect to do is hear it from someone you know. This man vowed to be her father as long as I tote the line and be a good wife. Knowing I took anything less than love just so that she could have a stable life, and I could keep everything I worked for hurt me to the core. I’ve thought about everything I’ve been through these past few months.

An STD, him sleeping with my sister, and now this. Garrett has always done his dirt with women, but I signed up for that. However, this shit was too much. Not to mention, he left before I could beat his ass for taking my daughter with him to fuck that nasty ass bitch. The more I thought on it, the madder I got. Walking in Mila’s room, I grabbed a pair of gym shoes.

“Come on Jam, I need you to take a ride with mommy.”

“Ughhh, you told me to go in my room and play. So, I’m playing.” Taking a deep breath, I tried to calm down.
